  Why JW's Rave So Much About Conventions

  "it was so beautiful, we are truly blessed!

  now, they also plaster these affirmations all over social media, "this is the best life", “so blessed”, “best convention”.. why the gushing?

  have you ever heard anyone say, “mmmm it was ok”?

  They have to rave about the conventions, they don't have anything else to look forward to in life. lol

  i was watching serena win yet another wimbledon title recently (congrats to her) but it got me to thinking about her for a moment.

  she identifies herself as a jw and if you look up any info on her it will tell you that her religion is jw so that means that she herself and the rest of the world identifies her as a jw.. for those of us who are df'd as well as those of you who are about to be df'd what is the reason?

  and what is the main difference between a df and a fade away?

  Membership has it's privileges! Follow the money!

  Prince received a big fat JW send off, yet he obviously had a problem with prescription meds. He died of a drug overdose. I would get df'd for smoking a cigarette. Make sense? No. It's what happens when mere men are put in the judges seat.

  Gulp down the camel yet strain out the knat.

  Elders intervening in family issues

  does anyone know of any good scriptures or reference articles that i can show an elder to hopefully have him stop intervening in a family issue?

  i already told him that i am the head of the house and that they're usurping my headship but they didn't seem to get the message.

  This is Mrs. Toes . This happened to my family as well. I quoted no scriptures. I said...."you are being intrusive, we don't appreciate it and back off." They did. When they tried again, I said the same thing. They backed off again. I will say it as many times as they try to butt into our business. We owe them NOTHING!

  Personally I would inform them very firmly to back off...no scriptures required! If they do not stop then threaten with legal action. Remember, they only have power over you when you give it to them!

  yes, that is what a witness said after the police shootings and terrible aftermath of violence occurred this week in the usa..... they said that it now gives them a chance to live forever...as if they would not have had that opportunity if they had not been tragically killed..... of course according to witness teachings, the contradictory thing is that if the big a had come a day before, then those same people would have been killed by jehovah because they were not his worshipers.....

  Remember the Bunker video: "Our message went from good news to judgement."

  That is all JW's know how to do well....JUDGE OTHERS. WT is creating a rift, us against them. They have divided families for years but are seeing quite a few JW's not following "theocratic direction". This WILL and HAS reached the media and social media. The JW's are getting quite a reputation. They are doing a great job hanging themselves. If a JW is not in a position to exit (family ties), I truly believe that the majority of these ones have quit donating. How better to strike back...hit em where it hurts...THE WALLET!

  Helped with fathers funeral, helped with arranging care for my mother - then SHUNNED again!!

  well i have not been on this site for ages - so long that i had forgotten my username etc and have had to start again!.

  anyway briefly - bought up in 'the truth', baptised at 18, married at 21, had kids, got divorced, remarried, disfellowshipped 15 years ago.. parents and brother shun me.. early last year father very ill, calls me.

  i arrange to visit him in hospital.

  Sorry for your loss. Their sympathy does not last long, if at all. UNTIL....it happens to THEM. JW's never "get" anything until it happens to them.
