When you were fully in, did you believe that you would not die?

i know that it must seem silly to ask, but my brother and his family think that the big a will arrive before they die.

i tried to explain to my brother that everyone else who has ever lived in the past has died and only jesus has [physically] rose from the dead.. it is amazing that anyone could buy that line.

what crazy cult culture that could make people believe such nonsense?!.

I never bought into it fully. I always looked at those who have money, who are famous, who are successful and beautiful/handsome people. No matter the circumstances in life, we all die. No matter how rich/poor, beautiful/ugly, in the end we ALL die. I am looking at the older JW's faces (in the 70's, 80's and 90's), they all have that defeated look on their faces. They are not supposed to still be here. They are having to face the prospect of dying for the very first time. I believe some of them are questioning their decisions in life (staying single, no children, no home, no career, no college and most importantly NO savings). Do they wish they could do it all over again and do it differently?

You get one shot at this life, make the best of everyday!

The Biggest Mistake The GB Have Made In The Last 10 Years

i think the single biggest mistake the governing body have made in the last 10 years has to be creating jw broadcasting and putting their gb members on there... on a weekly basis too.. when i was a kid, i had no idea who the governing body were, what their names were or what they looked like.

there was one or two long term pioneers that knew the names of two of them but that was about it.. when i was about 10yo i imagined they looked something like this:.

ahh.... those learned men with a lifetime of bible knowledge just oozing out of their very hearts.

Yes..it seems they have offended some on purpose. Some of the things said and done seem like they want these "trouble makers" OUT.

Yes...JW Broadcasting was the "proper food at the proper time."

I believe Anthony Morris' talk about a year and a half ago woke a lot of people up. EVERYONE got to see what these guys really are. Your picture of the Three Stooges was spot on. Tony Morris' talk really showed the male listeners were actually told if they did not reach out for a position they really weren't worth spit. I would like to personally thank Tony for this talk. It helped us put that final nail in the coffin with WT. Thanks Tony!

As for Lett...well I don't think I need to point anything out there. His videos say it all. lol

Circuit ASSembly low-lites

so in an effort to relieve some pressure here are what i term the low-lites of yesterday's assembly that i had to endure for the sake of family still in and my progressing fade.

apologies in advance for being pretty long winded.. these may not all be the actual words used, but the ones i use are close, and they pretty well say what was said from the platform.. right off the bat in the opening prayer the praises of the governing body were spoken.

"meet at another KH 20 miles away"

Just wait until they have to drive that 20 miles 2 or more times a week. The time and money it costs to get there may change their minds. It all sounds good on paper, until you have to do it. They will see their congregation shrink even more. More will request the dial up number. Once WT gets ones used to dialing in then they will spring the meetings being streamed via video. They are setting this whole thing up and the little ole gullible elderly ones will gobble it up.

My Brother Called Me Yesterday...

my brother isn't a witness but he was raised one like we all were.

after 15 years living his own life he decided about a year ago to have a bible study.

this being the case, as a non baptized witness he can still speak to me but he's getting a lot of pressure not to from elders and the rest of my family.

Loved it! You nailed him! JW's always remind me of they saying..."gulping down the camel and straining out the knat." Why didn't the Elders show him the REAL video? Are they not proud of their work? ha ha

I don't think YOU will have to do a thing. This statement above says a lot. Leave it at that and see what happens.

what sick fu... writing this article thought the the average person did this to keep kids quiet..

Midweek meeting video

did anybody see the service meeting video this week?.

australian sister was sexually abused as a child and thought of ending her life at 14 years old, sometime later jw's call on her father who accepts a study and eventually the whole family becomes witnesses, life gets much better as the sister immerses herself in pioneering etc, she still has some dark days but prayer along with going for walks and swimming has helped her cope with bad memories of child abuse, the new system (just around the corner) will completely fix everything......... i'm dumbfounded, the hypocrisy has literally rendered me speechless......comments anybody?.

How successful are others at getting ex-dubs together?

for my first shunniversary i reached out to the local ex-dubs that i know.

i invited 11 total to join me in a little get together at a local restaurant, then back to my house to hang out.

one friend asked if he could invite others, and i encouraged him, and all, to do so.

I think you hit the nail on the head on that one. I know my trust does not go as far as it used to. I am working on that. Maybe a lot of the ex JW community have trust issues as well.

dubstepped...you and your wife sound like fantastic people. Maybe one day when our life and responsibilities slow down, we can meet some of the wonderful people in the community.

Have you seen the video of Splane directing the orchestra? What a nut job he is! Thinks so much of himself! Legends in their own minds. I wonder when the GB will "be gone, in the twinkling of an eye?" Me thinks they will be in the Cayman islands! :)
