Because narcissists loath criticism. It's always someone else's fault, not theirs. NEVER their fault.

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

So the Elders want to get together, and I kinda want to.
by Darkknight757 inso the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.

If you have nothing to loose, go for it. It looks like they have already decided to shun you and your wife. They actually "uninvited" you. I guess that says a lot.
Everyone has to handle things in their own way. Everybody's story is different.
Keep us posted on what you do.

If the GB changed a major teaching, would all witnesses just go along with it?
by stuckinarut2 inso if the gb changed its "bible based beliefs" on some teaching, would witnesses all of a sudden change their individual beliefs too?.
witnesses like to claim that "their bible trained hearts and minds" make them believe as they do, but we know that the reality is that all witnesses hold their "deep seated beliefs" according to what they have been told to believe.. so what would cause the average witness to question those that dictate their "personal convictions"??.
thoughts?.

"The thing I think is most effective is an act that is perceived as blatant injustice to the individual. Once they find that no one really cares about justice or theocratic reasoning, that is their best chance at eyes opening."
Exactly Millie. Once it is done to THEM, the tables turn. We observed this a few years ago. A close friend was stripped of his "privileges". You would have thought that WT had put him in a concentration camp and tortured him. Now that he has his "privileges" back all is right in JW land. He marches merrily along....UNTIL they do it to him again! It's always easier being the screwer verses the screwee. There is a song by Lady Gaga titled, til it happens to you. The song is about sexual assault. No one understands what that person goes through until it happens to them. It personally affects them.

The Great October 2016 Invite to the Sunday Meeting campaign ...
by freddo inwell how's it going round your way?
massive increase of interested ones?
did you even know it was supposed to be happening?

Well, they will be consolidating congregations very SOON. It has already started in some places. This will give the publishers a "fuller feel" at the meetings. Then they can all brag on how the org is growing, Jah's chariot is speeding up and the WT gets to make additional money selling off unused (empty) Kingdom Halls. Everyone wins! lol Maybe WT can sell the halls to the growing numbers in Babylon the Great. They sold our hall to Babylon years ago. HYPOCRITES!
JW's can have the delusional thoughts that WT is growing, but we all know the REAL reason.

Question: Can't You Just Ignore A Judicial Committee?
by Sorry inone thing i've never understood is judicial committees.
yes, i understand it's held to see if elders should go through with the disfellowshipping process.
but why give them all the power?
-
ToesUp
You can let them know that you will attend the Judicial committee BUT only under one condition, that your attorney be present as well. They will say no. Then tell them that any DF'ing decision will be turned over to your attorney. You will NEVER hear from them again. They will drop you like a hot potatoe. You too can play ugly!

WTBTS/CCJ.W.'s incriminate themselves

WT only cares for themselves. The money only flows one way...into WT's pocket. If a Kingdom Hall is broken into, one of WT's precious real estate assets has been compromised. A child being molested, well as WT states...."those are apostate driven lies." Sad but true.

So does the Almighty God Jehovah make mistakes, or is the society NOT his spokesman?
by stuckinarut2 inthe society claims to be jehovah gods sole channel on earth - his spokesman.. if any witness disagrees with this claim, they are branded as an apostate and punished.. but the society has made countless errors over the century, and repeatedly changed doctrines and beliefs.
not to mention the appalling foundation teachings of the organisation's teachings!
so a simple question: is god making msistakes and getting things wrong, or is this proof that the society is not guided by god?.

Now stuck... that would be presumptuous to answer that question. Lol

"To avoid giving the impression that money is very important to us"
Now this is funny. I guess the congregation money grab, selling off properties, charging the circuit high prices for a paid off assembly hall, begging for money in the JW Broadcast, sending Bethelites into the "field", cutting the DO position, cutting the printing of the ragazines/books and the overall one way flow of money in this cult doesn't show how important money is to them. Really?
FOLLOW THE MONEY!

God's Rule Book ....The org is setting the scene....
by tor1500 ini went to my midweek meeting this week.
very interesting....couple of things i noticed in the god's rule book, this week finishing up "the kingdom is born in heaven".
there was a footnote that read:for many years the watch tower was intended mainly for members of the little flock for their personal edification.

I agree with Sir82. I was always thinking..."what should I drink when I get home...red or white?"
I don't think people are thinking at all. They just go through the motions and continue on with their social life. Waiting on Jah! No thinking involved.

Interesting article regarding the properties owned by JW's and other sects.
SHAWANGUNK - This Ulster County town, with a ridge of quartz mountains rising 2,000 feet, is a mecca for rock climbers. In recent years, religious groups have also begun flocking to the mid-Hudson Valley municipality of 15,000 residents, putting down roots and scooping up tax breaks.
In 2015, the 29 Shawangunk properties with religious non-profit status were worth $148 million, up 85 percent since 1999.
“Our town is nearly 30 percent exempt,” said town Tax Assessor Curt Schoeberl. “In the last five or 10 years, the largest tax-exempt group’s growth is religious. These groups are growing faster than the taxable part of the tax rolls.”
“The only thing they don’t have on the property is an oil well,” Schoeberl quipped.

Brimming with hundreds of millions of dollars in cash from the sale of it Brooklyn properties in recent years, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, and their nonprofit arm, The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, is amassing property all over the Hudson Valley. Watchtower owns about 1,500 acres in Shawangunk, where the group maintains a printing press for its religious literature, a working farm and refrigeration and ready-mix concrete plants.
In the Orange County town of Warwick, Jehovah’s Witnesses are building a new headquarters, reportedly set to be 1.6 million square feet.
In Putnam County, Watchtower owns nearly 750 acres — nearly all of it tax-exempt. Spread out on both sides of Route 22 in Patterson, the property is home to a massive education center, several apartment buildings, a farm, dining hall and several other buildings.

In Shawangunk, Schoeberl said Watchtower gives back to its host community “in an unbelievable fashion.
“They almost single-handedly built two town parks with their manpower and equipment,” he said. “I don’t think they’ve ever said no” to a request for help.
Schoeberl said several Buddhist groups have also joined other nonprofit organizations in making their home in Shawangunk in recent years, buying large tracts of land for several temples.
