Just watched and you are 100% correct. How can you deny the damage WT has and still continues to do to families and individuals. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely ear mark this one to possibly use once we drop the bomb on our families.

Baby update and quick hello.

my last post mentioned that we lost twin b at 17 weeks but twin a is doing well so far.
we are 25 weeks tomorrow and a week past the point of viability so we are starting to get really exited for this new adventure in our lives.

by doubtfull1799 inso he tries to prove that we are living in the last days without any evidence, but instead a series of unsubstantiated assertions ("never has there been a time with so much lack love and affection").
and uses things that are not even part of the so-called "sign" (abortions, pollution).
then proceeds to ridicule the "ridiculers," stereotype them, and declare they are only fit for destruction!.

Why is the approval of family so important?
by jwfacts inone of the reasons people remain pimo is fear of losing family.
those that are disfellowshipped and shunned regularly comment about how devastated that they have lost the approval of their parents.. when i respond to emails from people saying how difficult it is being estranged or looked down on by their parents, i would like to say that over time they will come to terms with it, except i not sure that people ever do.
i cannot shake that feeling either.

That is a great point. Even though we ourselves have been scarred and hurt, we can give our kids the things we may not be receiving....like unconditional love. They will thank us for that one day.
I apologized to my kids a couple of years back. I told them that I hope we didn't screw them up too badly. One child said, "mom, I'm doing fine." That is all I needed to hear.

We are all hard wired to want to belong, more so from the very people who gave us life. Every person born wants to be accepted, especially by their parents.
The shunning that WT promotes is a despicable practice. This is one thing that can really mess up a person. When my spouse and I decided to make our exit, it was due to observing how others treated a family member who was DF'd. It was one of the saddest and cruel things we witnessed. How the hell is someone supposed to receive any help they need in life if we just kick em out and never speak to them?
I could never do it to my children. I have too much love for them. I couldn't live with myself.
This practice is is barbaric and in my opinion should be on the list of a hate crime.
Via the internet, WT is showing it's true colors. With all of the propaganda videos, showing the rank and file what WT believe is a "loving arrangement", WT is letting the public know what kind of organization it is. If it continues the way it has been, I believe you will see more and more people make their exit. Ones who decide to remain may leave once their Elderly parents pass away. We have wondered how many remain, waiting for their parents to pass.
It breaks my heart to hear ones on this site who miss their parents and have to live with their disapproval. This should NEVER happen to anyone. NEVER! WT has a lot to answer for.

similarly, jw forums are abuzz singing the praises of mr and mrs novik and their brood after they received the parental glory honor from no less than jw-oppressor, mr putin.. from the stinking gb heaven all the way down to the dusty rank and file, the hypocrisy is sky-high.

It is a one way street BUT there is one thing WT can't change....THE INTERNET! The internet is exposing all those dirty little secrets and lies and the rank and file are finding them. The internet is poking more holes in WT and people are walking away. The most blind, those stuck in for family and the socialization that WT members receive will keep the others in. The question you have to ask is how many PIMO people are there in WT land. I think there are more than we know.

Fatherless Boys
by JW_Rogue inthe wt teaches that "fatherless boys" need special care and attention in the congregation.
however, as brought out at the rc their definition of "fatherless boys" includes boys that have actual fathers who maybe very well qualified to teach and raise their sons.
according to wt, if either of your parents aren't jws then you are a "fatherless boy.

I wouldn't want any of these "men" to care for my son. He has a great Dad...now no longer a JW. All we witnessed throughout our life in WT was pure abuse. When the Elders started taking pot shots at our son, our days became numbered as a JW. THANK YOU WT ELDERS, YOU DID US A HUGE FAVOR AND I THINK YOUR NUMBERS (and money) ARE TAKING A HIT BECAUSE OF THE ABUSE. You can not go back and change all the abuse you did to impact peoples lives.

I know of one Elder that helped a lot of Brothers and Sisters in the KH. Lent money, let people borrow his car and some other very kind things. The CO received many nice gifts and delicious meals out. I don't believe there are too many caring elders left in the org.
My spouse was laid off a few years back. Not a meal or even a word of encouragement from any Elders. NOTHING!
