my wife asked me after the year 2000 came and went without fanfare(because the wt organization said all the “new world” would be here within this 20th century would end), “ what would it take for you to leave the truth?”.
my reply was “ if i turn 60 in this “system of things”.
"My Son, Mother, Step Father, Brother & Sister have also stopped going and I have formed new friendships"
Fantastic! You are still young. Enjoy life and freedom and love those who truly love you! The rest are not worth your time. Great news!
You will be amazed at how much time you truly have without doing all the JW "tasks."

I think we are starting to see more and more Elders make their exit. My spouse and I read several posts on reddit last night. Many Elders seem to be waking up.
every once in a while you hear people say they actually “miss” their old witness friends and or family.
some would have even stayed in the organization if they became a bit more liberal and open minded.

i have just got of the phone with a relative complaining about the convention venue.
as far as my relative is concerned wt can do no wrong, so for him to say what he did it must of been bad.
the venue where the convention was held was described to me as a “tin shed with no air conditioning”.
When JW's start complaining (rightly so), WT gives some sort of talk about murmuring. In others words...."shut up and sit down and enjoy the spiritual food that Jehovah (aka, the Borg) has so lovingly prepared for you."
the co got on his hind legs for the public talk and repeated twice "tolerance promotes division".
then backed it up by saying that if one group march for some right, another group will march for the opposite.. so jws are intolerant and proud of it.

Most of the CO's we have come across, in the years in the cult, just DON'T and never will get it. They are sheltered from the real world and are owned by WT. They are financially bound by WT and their little green handshakes. What came out of their pie holes were not worth worrying about. In fact, the last CO, was the one who made the decision for us, that we don't belong in this cult. A true self serving, arrogant ass hat!
in 1976 when i was a young lad of 6, fred franz came to glasgow and gave a talk in govan a suburb on the south side of the city (for those of you who dont know).
our congregation hired a bus to ferry us all to the hall and it was standing room only.
being only 6, i have only the vaguest of memories other than an old man shouting and bawling from the stage.
A family member once told us that he met Brother Knorr. He said that "he trembled when he met him." What? He's just a man. No....he's a "rock star."

she went to the same assemblies as you, she was raised in a similar household, she did poetry slams as well.
I have seen this book before but have not read it yet. I love the title. A perfect title to describe the JW's. lol
i notice the friends are in an anne frank attic instead of a boarded up basement this time.. the giving to ones in need pic shows literature and bible, but no food or money.

Our past experience in this cult. If you are stuck at a JW gathering for more than a couple of hours, you will begin to see the narcissism of this cult. Can you imagine putting a group of JW's in an attic, basement or bunker for several days or weeks? No one would come out alive. They would all kill each other over who is the "most spiritual in the land." lol
i am surprised no one has mentioned what is going on in canada.. maybe they have but i missed it.
