  boring post below, fyi.. i was with extended family this weekend and the conversation drifted to contributions and donations.

  they said  amazon will donate a percentage of your purchase to a charity of choice.

  i guess someone put in jdumbs and it went through.

  Handing out candy

  growing up my parents would barricade our home off by parking vehicles bumper to bumper - you would have to crawl under the cars or over the bumpers to get to our door.

  also, we would turn off all the lights and hide in the back room away from the street.. that was the norm for me.

  i haven't seen this article before but i apologize if this has been discussed.. i decided to download a bunch of jw literature and came across this special bulletin from 1928, a special colporteur edition.

  it was written by the society and sent to the roughly 1400 colporteurs, which is someone pushing religious books and magazines.

  if you want the entire bulletin id be happy to email it.

  so, i'm visiting family this week who are all jws.

  yesterday, it started with one of them talking about a co giving her some points on time keeping for service.

  she is now writing a letter before she drives to service, so she can count her drive time.

  so, i was at the hall when they announced the new mortgage payoff donation thingy a few months.

  yes, thats about what i got out of it.. i raised my hand when they did the resolution but, like most witnesses, i really had no idea what was going on.

  does anyone ever say nay to those?.

  i'm sure this has been brought up before but.... i was talking a lil bit with the wife today about things as she brought it up.

  she's baptized and all that, i'm not.

  after the zone meeting i said enough.. anyway, she mentioned there's about 6000 anointed left and that armageddon would come before they all croaked.

  wanted to say hello to you all.

  i am new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself.

  i was raised a witness, never baptized (yay) and am married to a lovely baptized witness of jehovah.. i had been trying to get back into it due to both our families being j dbs but just never could get it into my heart.
