C describes me the best, even though it's hard for me to say I was really ever a true believer. if the rules of common-law marriage apply elsewhere, though, then yes I was a JW. there were quite a few times I had to identify myself as a JW when talking to other people, especially when I was in school.

this is the first time i say, "merry christmas" back to someone.

I've been out since I was 17. and I really do try to make the holidays nice for my boys, but it's really hard to be all gung-ho about it when it's just us three. there's a girl I work with who was DFed ten years ago, when she was eighteen, and I might go over to her house for Christmas. after I made that post today, I went back to work and talked with her about this very subject. she talked with her husband and we'll finalize details tomorrow. we can be pagans together! and I won't be as lonely this year.

the thing that bothers me most about the holidays is the unbearable loneliness. everyone else is running off to visit their family, and I have no one but my two boys, because everyone else in my family is a JW, or in California, or dead. my boyfriend's parents don't like the fact that I have children, they don't want to be "instant" grandparents, so I'm not invited to holiday functions yet. I really fucking hate Thanksgiving and Christmas. I try to be happy for the boys' sake so I don't ruin Christmas for them, but inside I just want to curl up into a ball and and cry myself to sleep til New Year's Day.
