I never cared for breast implants.
I always love a woman's natural figure, no matter the bust size. To me, a woman's natural figure is much more appealing and sexier IMHO.

it is estimated that working women will on a yearly basis spend approximately $5,800.00 to adorn themselves, perhaps a breakdown is as follows:.
1. cosmetic stuff ( make up ) approx $500.00.
2. hair care approx $800.00.
I never cared for breast implants.

angry towards jehovah.. i understand the angry towards the jehovah's witnesses.
i carry hard feelings towards them and their teachings but, i have been seeing many negative attitudes against jehoavh himself.
what bad or wrong has jehovah commited?
getingout,
It's easy for people to blame God for all bad things that happened to them. The anger toward Jehovah is no different and it is because that is the name of God according to the WTS and the JWs. The negative attitude toward Jehovah is because people considers him guilty of association with the group of individuals (the Jehovah's witnesses) that hurt them in the first place.
That's my observation and I'm an outsider.

what happens to bethel workers when they get old?
it seems to me that if one were a bethel worker for most of his or her life, he or she would have very little if any savings to draw on in their old age.
also unless im mistaken, a bethel worker does not pay into social security and we all know the borg does not, so i dont think they can collect social security, can they?
Good Question, FreeMan.
That will be a very sad situation for them when they retire. If they don't have enough for savings, then I wonder if they have to move into their own grown children's homes provided they (their children) are still active?
I don't know if that situation only applies to Bethelites, Can it also apply to the elderly active JWs?

hey all!.
a couple of days ago, i posted a thread about jws and higher education.
that question was regarding jws who finished high school.. now, my question is this for both jws and xjws alike: are there any jws who before converting did have a college education (4 year bachelors, master or phd) that you know or met?.
I guess people who has a Higher Education are not very highly-regarded even if they convert?

Freeman - That's OK. For one minute, you got me there.
puffsrule - That's interesting.
Speaking of Attorneys, I wonder if the WTS attorneys are JWs per se or some "worldly" firm contracted outside of the WTBS.

Remember, the time is so very short; any day now Ajax, any day now!
Freeman, it seems to me that you are an active JW. Right?

If there are, my next question is: Isn't that like a double standard that a person with a Higher Education can convert while a young active JW cannot obtain a higher education? In other words, there we have the JWs with Higher Education because they converted and there we also have the JWs, who were born/grew as one, don't have a Higher Education. That seems to be an unfair disparity, don't you think?
What do you all think?

its all about lurkers: there are at least three main types of lurkers, 1. a jw with doubts, concerns, feeling that something is wrong with the religion, 2. an ex-jw who is caught between two worlds, and does not feel free yet to live a normal life, 3. a non-jw who is either involved with a jw, or a relative of a jw, or is in the middle of being studied with by the jws.. defining moments: everything we write, say, and do is observed by the lurkers.
in a single moment, or a series of collected comments, we will eventually cause a lurker to have a defining moment ... a point in time where they decide that being a jw is not for them anymore, or that they can stop living between two worlds, or cease studying, and not join the religion.
we may never know who we help, or how many.. flame wars and character attacks: when we get embroiled in these, whether we are the instigator or the brunt of the attacks ... what are we really doing?

"Scary World" is exactly right. I am not a JW but have been thrown into its world against my will. I first started researching about 3.5 yrs ago, I cannot describe the emotions I went thru. I feel like I WAS IN and am now out, and experiencing the shunning that is spoken of here. Its scary all right.
Being a long time lurker on this board allowed me to see the human aspects, put a face on it, and learn from your experiences.
I wish this board was the first place I had come to.
How true that is! you are echoing my feelings as I just started to research since last July. I was lurking this board until I signed up in mid-December. I hope you can email me with your experiences as to what brought you to this board since you were not a JW as I was never a JW.
Amazing - Thanks for this thread. You really hit it in the nail regarding to lurkers as I was one for a while before I joined up.
