  how old were you when you lost your virginity and was it all that you thought it would be?????.

  i was 19, and my first time was a complete let down.

  i envisioned that gothic romance motif, all about romance and love, i didn't know what i was doing, didn't know sex was like that.

  Speaking for myself:
  - First, I am a neverbeen-JW and a Worldly all my life. So, I didn't have the repression that most of you had/have in your lives. Well, somewhat as I grew up in a military dictatorship.

  - Second, I grew up in a society/country where people have a laissez-faire or liberal attitude despite being a military dictatorship during my teen years.

  Personally, I don't knock anyone down for being a virgin. As a matter of fact, I truly respect and admire them for making that choice, admitting it and not feel ashamed of it. If they are happy with that choice, more power to them and good for them because in this day and age, there is still a lot of peer pressure as before.

  Whats the cruelest thing a JW has eva done to you

  i think the most thoughtless thing they eva did to me...and it's rather embarrassing...is when i was still a jw at 14.. i'd just had an operation to remove a cyst and my left ovary due to polycystic ovarian syndrome.

  so i'm sitting at the district convention and i get up to go and have lunch with my mum cause i was sitting with an sister a little older than me - in her 20's.

  so i start walking across the oval and there's people everywhere and i'm getting a few looks, but hey, i was a paranoid teen, they made me agoraphobic, so i didn't think too much of it.

  I am to speak for myself as I don't think the non-neverbeen-JWs would agree with me.

  I have to say that the cruelest thing(s) that a JW did to me were:
  1) Making promises and not keeping them, in other words, LIE.
  2) Being Shifty Two-Faces: 1 minute, they are your friend and they treat you real nice. The next minute, you are nobody to them and pretend that they don't know you as well as they are pretending too much.

  I know of a small "Christian" cult named "The Way International" that does it and strongly emphasizes it in their prayers. I went to a couple of their sessions and they did Speaking in Tongues after the round of prayers. How they do it is like this: After the round of prayers, the conductor picks someone (about 2 or 3 people, one at a time) in that session to do the speaking in tongues and that person will do it and then, "supposedly" say the translations.

  IMHO, it is kinda bizarre.

  Me @ 15 to a college girl of 20 a few days after my B'Day during her summer school. She was pretty experienced as I was not her first one.
  We did it in her dorm room. Of course, her roomies were out in classes while we snuck in during the mid-afternoon. But Man, that was a great laid. She did crank up the stereo out loud and we were doin'it and goin'at it depending on the pace of the song. The ones that I remember best were: "Man in Motion" by Jack Parr from the "St. Elmo's Fire" soundtrack because that was the first song when we did it and when I lost my virginity. The other one was "Search and Destroy" by Metallica (a couple of songs later). Boy, we sure did crank that up (not the volume of course ) and went at it wilder, harder and faster when that song progressed.

  Nowadays, when I hear both of these songs, you know what I remember best .

  Body piercing?

  ok.... question - what is wrong with body piercing?

  i personally feel it is a method of self expression.

  i mean, i would never go and get everthing possible pierced, but i do have 2 holes in each ear, and a newly acquired belly ring.. i got my belly done 3 weeks ago, on spring break.

  HiYa CollegeGirl,

  From my understanding about JWs from what I read, they discourage tattoos and body piercing because:
  - Inflicting pain to your body which is akin to them discouraging getting involved in riske activities like Bungee Jumping, SkyDiving, Rock Climbing and Martial Arts.
  - Self-Idolatry, Worship to one's body (my guess and I may be wrong)
  - Like Gil said, sign of rebelliousness, which makes sense in that body piercing does indicate a lot of individualism, which is something I don't think a lot of congregation elders tolerate.

  It ultimately depends on the congregation/circuit as doinmypart stated.

  Wealthy JWs = Higher Position in the Org.?

  i've read over the past months that jws are not wealthy.

  however, i wonder if those that are wealthy, are they in a high position like elders, ms, co, do, bethelites?.

  since i know of one here at work who does have yearly travel vacations to locales like las vegas, europe and the caribean.

  Well, Well...

  I get the impression from the posts that if you are rich entering the 'Society', then you can advance and move thru the rankings faster.

  I guess there are a lot for double standards regarding that since the rich and wealthy does get V.I.P. or preferential treatment as the WTS doesn't want to lose the money donated by the rich folks.

  Hi All,

  I've read over the past months that JWs are not wealthy. However, I wonder if those that are wealthy, are they in a high position like elders, MS, CO, DO, Bethelites?

  Since I know of one here at work who does have yearly travel vacations to locales like Las Vegas, Europe and the Caribean. The main reason I wonder is because she works part-time, her payrate is like $9/Hr and she lives with her family.

  I wonder if the family can afford those travels is because the father/head of the family is an elder, MS or in some Higher Position?
