  CLAM MEETING Dumbing down

  so yesterday was the midweek meeting - the first of the month for december so instead of locals doing the little talk skits we get the on screen shadow puppets.. after each one the ms taking the item asks the congregation for "positive" comments.. part way through i get a text from a pimo brother enduring the show which reads thus (and i quote word for word ...).

  "it's like listening to a bunch of people from a mental institution.

  The wife's CLAM meeting was yesterday. She didn't tell me about the screen shadow puppet shows. However, she did tell me about someone being announced as reproved.

  It's funny, a couple of days ago she was talking about how it has been awhile since she's been in service and how much fun it was and that she misses it. Then she presents the idea that I would be a good person she can practice her presentations with with me being the householder.

  Like a hungry large mouthed bass, I contemplated that bait, however, I didn't bite.

  I guess the look I gave her reminded her that that would not be a very good idea.

  If mathematics teacher made a mistake, would it mean mathematics itself is wrong!

  many people point to the irrationality in the depiction of god by the religions and their scriptures, hence jump into the bottomless pit of atheism.

  in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).

  it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.

  Work Christmas functions: Being a Bible Student (unbaptized)

  hi all,i have been studying with the witnesses for more than 6 months and regularly attend both midweek & weekend meetings, and i am nearly at the end of the "bible teach" book.

  my boss is adamant i attend team christmas functions.

  she knows about my studying and potential baptism next year, and has suggested that i attend and just not participate in activities like kris kringle.

  i have opened thesite to relate this part of my day.. yes the jw are such happy people.

  yeah right... my wife has come home after an extended sunday meeting in a foul mood.

  to be around her is like feeling your way through barbed wire.

  My wife went to their annual meeting yesterday but came home okay.

  She knows who is paying all her expenses!

  Just woke up turn TV on to hear yet another nut case with a gun.

  first they said 20 dead with 100 injured.

  now i just heard 50 dead and 200 injured.

  whatever it is it just another nut case who was able to get a high power gun to kill people.

  Wow.....

  It took only four posts for a local gun nut to come out with a full-throat defense of the values and virtues of gun ownership with wholly nonacknowledgement of 50 dead and 400 wounded.

  That has got to be a record.

  Paranoid why the coordinator's wife is soft shunning me

  for the past six months the coordinator's wife has definitely been avoiding me, turning her back or walking away when i walk in her direction, giving me a stare at other times.

  if i try to make casual conversation with her, she literally walks away or just looks through me until someone else comes to talk to her.. i can only think of one reason, which is that she may have seen me give a car ride to a disfellowshipped person months ago.

  i mean, it would be totally random if she happened to spot me on this one short journey, but it's possible.

  There are always ways to mess with these people using their own doctrines against them.

  Once you realize this and use it to your advantage, the witnesses are easily outmaneuvered.

  JW Kids Bullying My Daughter

  trying not to type swearwords as i write this so bare with me.. my little 3yo attends meetings with her jw mum (who doesn't believe watchtower anymore but is stuck in because she relies on her family for help).

  my mum (the one who tells people im dead) had a party for her grandchildren.

  that's my 4 nieces and 1 nephew aged from 3yo-11yo.

  Would probably be interesting to know how your wife's elder father explained that away?
