  some one just called & read it to me,it is all about showing love & kindness to every one not only among themselves .. what a load of cods wallop after all the families they have devided .i am so ticked .

  as a loyal jw, i was ready for my whole world to come to an earth-shattering halt and for life as i knew it to be gone...at the hand of my loving god.

  i only remember a life of grey, shades of grey punctuated by flashes of color and emotion which i quickly prayed to get through and to not be tempted by the colors i had seen.

  i viewed these as a sign of spiritual weakness and dove back into studying and praying and a living death i called "spiritual paradise".

  After leaving that life behind I now find myself in an exploding rush of emotion and passion and life. Life the people around me think nothing of but it is almost too painful and beautiful and wonderful to endure. I am touched to the soul at the sight of people holding hands, and cry when babies laugh, and am intoxicated by the beauty around me. I am exhausted at the end of each day with the emotions I now can almost taste and the tuggings and longings I now feel to my bones. I want to see it all. I want to feel everything. I want to thank everyone who had a hand in dragging me from the lifeless shell I was in while I fought them off and never forget that gratitude.

  Thank you to the posters here for extending your hands and hearts, the lurkers for your curious spirits ( you aren't seen or heard but are very much felt), and the friends I have made for being the voice on the other end of the phone or the hands on the keyboards through my screen pointing the way for me, and to the friends I have yet to meet (may we walk this journey together). Life is good.

  I'm the poster and the mom.

  I haven't been on the board but got a pm to check out the thread.

  Yes, it's all true.

  My daughters were scared of dying at Armageddon if they went with me.

  Bottom line: They're still active JW's but I refused to be shunned. They just spent the weekend camping with me! So after all the court actions, love wins. I still have the court orders and help other ex-JW's with custody cases. The judge condemned all of it and saw through the lies. But it's only a piece of paper.

  I believe in divorce only if there is abuse or neglect.

  And I also believe one of the most romantic things in the world are 50th wedding anniversaries.

  good afternoon to everyone,.

  first off ,let me say how glad i am to have found this web site and im looking forward to learning more about everything jw related.. a little info about me... i'm 39 years old, being in the navy for 18 years now so next year i'll be retiring ;).

  im stationed in birmingham ,al at this time and drive to fl to see my son every other weekend.

  Photographs of old witness friends and Witness events. Do what with them?

  my family just took a stroll down witness lane this month as we searched for photographs that our graduating high school daughter needed for her display at her graduation party.

  we have an immense file of photos of a previous life with the jw's.

  in a way its a history of a former life.

  i'll start.. 1. they don't take showing up for cleaning the kingdom hall seriously and never show up.

  i overheard a sour puss old elder say this to his wife after he just gave a scolding talk on it.

  my wee mum is not long for this world

  she has lost over 7 stone due to her cancer and is finding it almost impossible to eat now.....see the difference in a couple of years .. ......she has been giving all her belongings away too recently
