  For me it's definitely a seasonal thing.
  Spring/Summer: Muguet, No. 4711
  Autumn/Winter: Varies, anything deeper and spicier

  For him: Paco Raban' or a little WD40 always does something.

  Secret scent: They put something in those Little Tree Spice airfresheners, I swear, especially when mixed with a 1970 Chevelle SS. ;o)

  visit to romania and to the.

  hmmmmm............ although a lot of factors weigh in on a person's reaction to shunning, who is guilty in the end?.

  i was wondering what the bryant's jw family are thinking, but reverting to my old jw rationale, "that's what happens when you leave the organization.

  " i am horrified at what i could rationalize for the society.. maybe dave and the rest who attended the services can help someone in the family who was reconsidering jw policies.

  I agree with you.
  But looking at it from this side, I wish we could have reached them in time and shown some of the support that is out here. That is the sad part. The internet is the greatest tool to combat the isolation of shunning to come down the pike. Community is back, watch out. Look what happened with the UN issue. That alone would have taken years to expose and change....and been a longshot. How long did it take Hawk and others to pull it off...2 weeks?
  Look how far we've come!!!!!!!!! I'm not going back. And I am grateful for the community of the board.

  My father admitted in court to molesting me in court years after denying it to the elders. The elder body had changed but I called the PO with the court tape in my hand and he said it had been handled and mumbled about not being on that committee.

  So timing is everything in some cases. The elders had told me the first time they would handle the legal end. I found out they didn't. SURPRISE! By the time it rolled around again, I cannot touch him, even with the admission in court, because the statute of limitations has run out.

  4 years and you're free! Oh, if he'd been my step-dad, I would have had the rest of my life to prosecute. Justice.

  I'm heading off to go to the Bryant memorial

  i really hate funerals and memorials and avoid them as much as i can.

  looking back on the few i have attended over the past ten years i guess i only go to them because of the people who are left behind.

  since i didn't know the bryant's or any of their family members i find the draw that i have to this service even more confusing.

  what is the legal position on doing a martin luther.

  Watch out for ordinances. To put flyers on cars in a parking lot most places you need permission in writing from the proprietor. The door of the hall may work, but the first person in the door will pitch it so it will be virtually wasted time. Cars parked on the street may be different since this is public property.

  Still, I agree with those who think that this will only alert them to apostates and they will be all the more emboldened to go on with their work. But believe me, I wanted to tattoo a few thinks on some people's foreheads myself....or burn a message in the lawn.

  My only fun is when I see one scowling at me I say, "I found out what they don't want you to know" with a concerned look. That is brief enough they can't run and tends to stick in the craw.

  Just live life as normally as you can and they will see that leaving the Borg doesn't end ones life. We aren't frothing at the mouth heathens out to get them. Leave them to their own devices and they will crumble. I live a block from the hall and occasionally put out a Silentlambs poster when they drive by, but smiling and waving does alot more damage...or seeing you playing with your baby on the swing. It will get them thinking, which is the point. Telling them exactly what they are will only shut down that process.
