  my husband and i are going to fly to florida tomorrow, may 10. we are going to visit venice_it and her folks again.

  i can use her computer while we are there, but she will probably be on it too.

  then a sucker is born and the cycle start all over.. being realistic the usa has been trying to nock down a regime in cuba for half a decade... besides writting and talking against it.

  anyway what goes up must come down, but for more than a millenium this law hasn't aplied to some churches, catholic.. why do i care about this anyway?.

  I am grateful to this board by pulling me out by the hair. I was searching the net for a copy of the Kingdom Ministry. I had been trying to get reinstated for 2 years after leaving under false charges.

  After reading here for 3 hours at the library (signing up for internet every 30 minutes) I was out for good. It unravelled as I read the words here.
  Apostates were not frothing at the mouth mad men but kind-hearted souls for the most part who knew their stuff and were willing to help someone else along.

  Thank you to everyone here. The power of the internet works when backed by good hearts.

  They Stole My Sign!

  i have a sign in my front yard on a main highway.

  it reads, "no child molesters, www.silentlambs.org".. last night evidently, someone took the sign.

  now i live one mile from the kingdom hall, do you think it could have been jw's?

  I live 2 blocks from the hall and my sign is 3' square. It has the website and the WT-ABUSE telephone number on it. The first week it was up I sat on the front porch and waved. After that, they all get whiplash trying to look the other way. It's pretty funny from this side of the sign.

  How much $ did you give for CD's, books etc?

  now i know money is a touchy subject, so if you feel discomforted by these questions, don't answer!.

  remember those articles that basically said "some have asked an appropriate amount to contribute for items such as the cd, bound volumes etc.

  this crap usually sells for $x in the shops."?.

  Magazines: $5.00 per wk.
  Books: $1-2
  Volumes: $20 set
  CD: $25

  This changed when I did the math and finally figured I was double paying by putting in the $ I got in F.S. in the box also. That peeved me so I stopped paying for ANY literature. I was pioneering and figured they kinda' owed me.

  Wish I had somewhere to send the bill now. 1000 hours per year multiplied by............hmmm + mileage.........

  how did you go about stepping down?

  did you just not say anything, did you write a letter or call one of the elders?.

  Reasons why we hate JW's (as an org)

  my first reason is the fact that i was being controlled through the jw social structure, and having to fight to do anything....even whether to wear a tie or not.

  the preoccupation with appearance was so debilitating; that was all i was ever concerned with.

  and, as i'm not attractive, good in sports, or a conformist, i had very few friends.

  In our area the following have been considered reasons to be counselled by the local elders:

  1. Wearing cowboy boots with a suit. Deemed as showing lack of respect even they were $300 boots and polished. Counsel given by brother in polyester suit with plastic shoes on.
  2. Wearing a colored dress shirt with a suit instead of white was deemed to "worldly".
  3. Sisters wearing colored nylons, no nylons, open toes shoes...
  4. A sister put a flower in her hair for spring and was told she looked like a harlot.

  It seems they were more worried by what was on your body than in your heart.
  This control epitomizes itself with the issue of shunning. No individuals are left to decide appropriate associates for themselves as in the only Biblical example of shunning, the decisions are made for them...thus no need for the Christian conscience requested at baptism. You turn that in at the door.

  by "religious experience" i mean a moment, an incident, where you felt that god was directly addressing you thru a public talk, a watchtower article.

  did god give you a "sign" that convicted you of the truth of "the truth"?.

  my mother told me about one she had.

  My experiences with religion as a whole are negative and spirit draining.

  I prefer "spiritual" experiences?

  I stood on a bridge in 1995 and asked God to send me someone to help me out of the dark I was in. In 1995 my now-husband lived 8000 miles away, won a green card, moved to America, Texas was the plan but a last minute changed it to Utah.

  I got a job in his building. One day in a snow storm he took me for a drive and we wound up........at the bridge. He was totally lost and I was totally found. The rest is history.

  Will the WBTS order JW's to Kill??

  dear post reader,.

  about nine months ago, while surfing through different jw web sites, i came across a reference to an e-mail that was sent to the poster.. the e-mail basically said that with the way that things are going with the society, i.e., so many " waking up", and not being so easy to mislead and control., that there very likely will be a "big" announcement regarding the order to kill the "apostates" and the "wicked people".. the source said that it would go something like this:.

  there would be talks, and some wordings in the magazines, alluding to an upcoming announcement.

  How about offering up their own children to pedophiles and the "God of abstinance" from blood transfusions? What happened to God wanting mercy over a sacrifice?

  They proudly display these children's faces on covers of magazines who have died. They also refuse to deal with the pedophile issue as we are finding out. That is outright child endangerment and murder. If a parent did either of these for any other reason that religion, they would be investigated by child protective officials and likely have their rights revoked.
