In conjunction with WTwizard, paul (the model traviling brother the branch brags about) made it a point to say he WORKED to support himself. Why shouldnt a CO do the same....? -

There may be some confusion regarding caring for the CO and the resolution passed. Once a year there is a resolution passed by the congregation that send a suggested amount per publisher to the branch for the CO automobile insurance fund. That can be either a lump sum or broken down into 12 installments. of course the CO dosent a dime of that directly as it is billed as "car insurance" although i have no idea if thats where it actually goes or not once the branch gets it.
Then twice a year when the CO comes round he will often submit his "expenses" incured during his visit, including gas and misc food not provided by the congregation. Some congregations still pass a resolution to reimburse him for this as well although the BOE was sent a letter several years ago stating it wasnt nessary to pass a resolution on that each time he came to visit. That money does of course go directly to the CO, often in the form of a check. This is in addition to any gifts (green handshakes) he gets.
Hope this clarifies who gets what and for what :)

Capytan, i apprecite you looking at all angels but releasing in that maner would be a logistical nightmare. Likely they will post them at the start or end of convention season in the usa in the public area. -

Doc- DO's didnt make money in any appreciable way, they were simply an extra layer of managment between CO's and the branch. These new LDC's are money makers. Its not apples to apples. Plus it lets them blow out older DO's and bring in younger people to run the LDC's. Additionally the CO was a branch rep who needed health care and the like. The vast majority of the LDC folks are not supported or cared for the branch in anyway (the lone head being the only person i have heard is an exception). And there are only 6 or 7 LDC's compared to dozens of DO's. It makes good sense from the real estate companys managment perspective. -

100% request physical copies! make them print them. Make them ship them. Make them store them and hand them out. -

"Jehovah ALWAYS had/used an organization". How would you reply?
by EdenOne inin a recent meeting with elders, an argument was used to the effect that jehovah has always [= throughout history] used, or operated through, an organization; therefore, the wts must be that organization today, since god must be using one.
naturally, i know what arguments i've used to counter that argument.
but i'm interested in hearing yours.

Site Update: Jan 15, 2015
by Simon innow there's no going back !.
i've just finished cleaning up and decommissioning the old server so for better or worse, we're stuck with the new version now - i hope it's at least no worse the the old site and hopefully getting better as i fix issues and make improvements and people get used to the changes.
apart from rss feeds i think all the features that the old site had are now available on the new one plus many extra ones.. the old server had faithfully served us for the last 3+ years and will now drift away, probably to be used by some other site.

I like the idea of +- next like/dislike. It would let you know it works and it would give the button a definable purpose. As it is, the buttons are there and my mind tells me they work but there is no visible feedback, no real definable purpose to bother clicking them.
