Slim, lets review: its a cult. Wait! That was just a reflex....
lets review: the cgi is still around. It actually did not “disintegrate”. It still exists. You went to a meeting. There are still members of the cgi who meet, worship and acknowledge membership in said church. Therefore it did not “disintegrate”. Im trying to think of more ways to say it but honestly its so silly and obvious i just cant reformulate it any other way. Its still around. Like the jw’s will be... how does that in anyway make your point that jw’s will be gone shortly?
also also, you completly missed the lesson of the cgi with regard to the jw’s. When wcg founder Herbert armstrong died they did indeed lose members and suffer what amounted to collapse before they retooled into cgi. The jws had that exact same moment 101 years ago when ct russell died and the ibsa eventually splintered into jw’s/ibsa.
Your comparision is a century out of date.
Also also also stan (little mac), you’ll go bald worrying over my spelling... oops too late! Sorry stan. Please continue enjoying national socialists grammer duty :)

Im curiouse why you
1) see similarities between our former org and the gci
and 2) were you aware that gci is still around, as in not collapsed and gone away, as you say the jw org will be in 2 years?

“Capitol. @never a jw you should really think about talking to someone about your self harm over spelling errors:).”
this.
Also, from someone who lives in the nations capitol, common usage here is either/or. Im not saying its “correct” but its reality, even in newspapers, to conflate the two.

Lol yes slim, i love reading your “slimboy joins...” series, especially because of your lense as a (maybe sometimes former) jw and comparing the worship and membership from a place i can relate too.
That said, dosent the long lasting (comparatively) power of lessor churches like the Unitarians show you that the org can hang around for a long long time? The org wields absolute power over millions as opposed to so many of the churches you visited who wield zero power but still limp along.
A few years from now we will all still be on this forum, talking about the latest wt insanity and wondering how people can still buy it. You will still vasilate and try to downplay this discussion but the org isnt going anywhere.

Oh boy so now we are down to a few years... it was 10 or 20 years just a few months ago, slim.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5697300724711424/question-sbf
slim, im not trying to pick on you or be hard on you, but its easy to get caught up in one piece of news or one event and lose the big picture. You go back and forth between the org being gone today or the org hanging around for decades and slowly declining. Its fine, of course, to modify your views or change your mind, but when you blow with the wind its hard to take it seriously.
Reports of the orgs demise are greatly exaggerated, to borrow a turn of phrase. The org is changing, not dying. The presentation this month is NEW, although its telling that they didnt put a jw org program together. In the old days they never dropped one program for another. I think this is a case of realizing most jw’s wouldnt invest the time to watch both.

The end of an era ......
by snare&racket ini have written some time ago, about how the religion i grew up in no longer exists.
i was an 80’s jw kid who became a pioneer then a bethelite.
they have new meetings, new elder roles, new acronyms, new core teachings, new songs and even a new bible.

Toasted daughter: Why Jephthah almost certainly sacrificed his daughter to a complicit Jehovah
by Diogenesister injehovah's witnesses insist that jephthah did not sacrifice his daughter to jehovah.
this is important to them because, rarther than jephthah just being a random bad person, jehovah was very much in on the deal.
after all, he made the promise to jehovah that he would "offer up as a burnt offering" on his return the first thing to come out of his house if jehovah would give the ammonites into his hands in battle, and since they were this makes jehovah complicit.. the isrealites had been getting a good thrashing of late, and the gilead elders (oh boy) had come out to ask jephthah, the rejected son of a prostitute (wouldn't you know it) and renown soldier, if he would lead the isrealites into battle for them.. this is when jephthah makes the deal with jehobo, and it all centres on the word for "burnt offering", which is given as "olah".

Wow tor.... your saying that god Almighty, smart enough to make the universe and everything in it, including the complex bio mechanical machine we call “humans”, is subject to error? He speaks before he thinks and therefore needs to change his mind....? How very human of him
