District Assemblies now being held at Circuit Assembly locations?
by ShirleyW ini haven't been to a kh in decades, so i get the google alerts for jws and i got one featuring a local news channel in brooklyn covering the assembly being held in flatbush, brooklyn.
i'm sure that venue is where the circuit assemblies are usually held, keeping in mind it's summer and that's when the district assemblies are being held.
why are they acting like they're so strapped for cash and now holding district assemblies in circuit assemblies locations ?.

B) where the RA is being held now and for how long
In the washington DC area nothing has changed. For the past 25 years they have used the Richmond Coliseum and still do, barring the advent of an international convention, and before that it was it the capital center. That dosent mean it hasnt changed for other areas but thats the point. Nobody has the complete picture.
There is one way, if someone were so inclined.... go to the web site and find the listing of the RA locations. Google the addresses and see how many are jw owned and how many are rented. We could then go back to an older KM or wt and pull the same information and compare. They used to print the locations, once upon a time.
That would at least confirm a trend, if one exsists. The problem for slim and the gloom and doom chorus is that it dosent matter one bit WHERE the assemblies are held, what is relevant is the attendance. There more jw’s today in the USA than there were 10 years ago. Its not collapse if your growing.

Nature is amazing :)
by LoveUniHateExams ini studied biology at uni and specialised in animal biology (wolf behaviour) but i've always liked natural history.. even if i never went to uni, i'd still be amazed by nature and i'd still watch nature programs on tv.. i'd like start a thread where posters can post nature clips that are in some way amazing.. the vid below shows wild wolves in the canadian arctic encountering humans for the first time.. these wolves haven't been exterminated by human hunters and therefore haven't learnt to fear humans.

Uni, i dont think thats what vidiot meant by family. I took the statment to mean most species dont engage in cannibalism with the word “family” meaning “their own kind”, not “other carnivores”.
The reality, however, is that the animal world has examples of cannibalism but i do tend to agree that generally species dont engage in eating their own kind. If a predator like a crocodile imprints on a human then it could be a factor in the phenomenon seen in your video.

Yep. One year we went to a ca three weeks becore a da. Its stupid.
They are still holding da’s in big venues. I havnt heard of them holding da’s in small venues in the usa yet, but who knows.

I know he has a daughter, shes about my age. I saw a really sad picture of her crying at his funeral. He died of cancer, my dad was just diagnosed with cancer. From that perspective I’m sad for his family.
So you do know, literally, SOMETHING about him. See how easy that was? It only took 5 posts and a lot of digging to find out what you really know and think. In short, if i understand correctly, you see a lot of similar circumstances and feel sympathetic.
It means you see another family in a situation similar to yours and i can understand and respect that. That does not make him a hero, influential or a republican leader, however. Words matter

You said, and i quote you directly, “I literally know nothing about him.” And then you said you didnt like him. Words matter. You clearly are responding emotionally because of shared circumstances, and thats a normal human reaction, but when you have a minute of quiet mediation try to separate “feel” from facts. Consider letting your rational brain guide your actions instead being guided by pure emotion.
