  I just had a thought about the new KH design

  i've been trying to figure out the purpose of the new (bland, commercial style) building that the gb is pushing.

  it is not a design that attracts attention, nor does it offer a lot in future resale value.

  it will be more difficult to build than the wood residential style buildings, meaning they can't use their cheap unskilled labor force for a lot of the work.

  Negative, jeff.  There are at least two flaws in your theory.

  1)  these actually will still be built with free jw labor.  The thermosteel construction and brick exterior is a decade old (at least) in dubbie lamd. They absolutly are not contracting anything out, except in places like ny city where union laws demand it. 

  2) kindomhalls are used quiet a bit during the week outside regular meeting nights. Meetings for field service are held twice a day in most halls as well as various elder meetings and the like. Then there is the issue of blasphemy mentioned by someone else. 

  It seems clear to me that this new design is all about flipping the buildings.

  i just started to watch the february broadcast when i noticed a metallic rattle over the drone of sam's voice.

  (does that man speak with a mouth full of chowin' tobacco or is he choking on the rubbish he reads off the autocue?).

  Im not one to buy into overhyping these types of things but i do swear that looks like a real gold rolex submariner.... If so hes a buffoon for wearing that on camera. An absolute buffoon. To cry poor qnd ask for donations with that huge chunk of money on wrist, while so many sacrifice to pionsneer and build more free halls is just the height of ignorance.  Its a glading reminder of seemingly bigger and bigger  ivory tower they live in compared to the rest of the organization.

  my mom called me yesterday to ask how i was doing.

  i hadn't seen her in a while, so it was nice to hear her voice.

  we went through the motions of jw small talk and then she started telling me about her co visit from last week.

  My congregation, east coast USA (washington dc), has the CO visit this week.  In hos talk last night he said the same about our way of worship being altered. Clearly part of the outline. Maybe priming the masses for weird changes but more likely typical fear mongering

  Im sorry JHK, i misunderstood.  When you bumped the thread with another picture diagramed to show where you claim the original pictures were taken it appeared you were reopening the discussion by adding new information or what you may feel was proof of where the pictures were taken. I was commenting on that mistaken impression.

  "in lieu of flowers send money to the kingdom hall"..... wow.... this young woman's jw servant husband was caught cheating on her again with another jw "sister", but when she told her husband she wanted to forgive him again and continue with her marriage, he told her he didn't want that.

  he wanted her to simply move on with her life.here is how she moved on: she put on her wedding dress, got into her car in the garage and started it.

  do you think finding her this way spoke louder than any suicide note?

  Did you skip the meeting to watch the superbowl ?

  i know we must have alot ofpeople on here huge football fans like myself.

  born and raised in boston, i am a huge sports fan, and of course patriots fan.

  so anyone here go to another meeting, makeup some bs excuse, illness, flat out miss the meeting or anything else to watch game if your meeting happened to go from the 9am to the 3pm in january ?.

  Not exactly true cappytan.  In football there are five different ways to score and each has its own point value:

  the touchdown, the most desirable where the ball is advanced into the endzone dduring regluar play  6 points

  then there is a "point after attempt" following a touch down.  If the ball is kicked and the kick goes through the goal posts, 1 point is awarded.  If the ball is advanced into the end zone via any other means (a run or a legal pass ), 2 points are awarded

  A field goal is when is a kick attempt made when a team has regular possesion of the ball (meaning not a point after attempt) and if made 3 poimts are awarded.

  lastly a play called a "saftey" is worth 2 points.  A safety is basically when the team on def downs the ball in the offensensess end zone. 

  So not quiet so cut and dry as "21-24" ;)

  Lol coffy, im just giving my soccer loving friends a hard way to go.  Intellectually i understand the draw of soccer and i have enjoyed watching a few matches (when the usa plays in the world cup) but i havent found it interesting enough to hold me long term. I think simon said it well when he said "those who have grown up watching soccer"... Its what we as individuals are accostomed to.  American baseball was the worlds dullest sport to me until i learned the ins and outs and i susspect i would feel the same about soccer.

    As i say, im  just fanning the flames in a good natured way ;)
