Jesus Saves From What? March 2015 Watchtower Article

i just skimmed the titled article on jw.org and once again the watchtower is misdirecting:.

they try and make the old case that jesus saves us from being destroyed at armageddon.

I think people who are christian would argue that jesus isnt saying 'believe in me or i will condem you". They would argue that we are already condemned and jesus is offering to save...

the problem is the original condemnation comes from the person jesus is claiming to save us from, either himself or his father, depending on your brand of christianity. Its all so obtuse, that we are condemed for something we didnt do (adam and eves sin) and that sin from thousands of years ago means we deserve to die unless another guy dies and makes it ok. So because the other guy died the sky daddy can 'forgive us' but couldnt just forgive us because we didnt do anything wrong in the first place.....

Btw the WT article that prompted this thread was a misprint. A letter to the BoE says it should read "jesus shaves!"

Phizzy stole my post. It will not in fact be about following jesus. It will be about how jesus follwed the desert god and the gb are doing the same so follow the gb as they lead you to the desert god.

Its all done so that the dubbies can say "see! We follow jesus! We're christians!" And feel good, never paying attetion to the real message and real dismissal of bible doctrine.

Freemind summed it up well. It is indeed an abusive relationship and thats why we who have awoken will never cinvince them they are wrong and cannot wake others up until THEY decide to see it.

Memorial on Good Friday?

just found out the memorial is this coming friday, which is good friday, don't recall that happening before, or has it?.

just seems strange that the dubs would celebrate their only special day on the same day that christendom celebrates as well..

Yea its def happened before. They are locked in to a day based on their theology and have no wiggle room just because its a so called worldly holiday.

it was access to this tree that kept adam and eve in a "perfect" state.

that is why they were kicked out of the garden.

actually, they may not have found the fruit at the time of their expulsion.

Your answer regarding immortality and everlasting life is spot on, as far as witness doctrine is concerned.

according to dubbie doctrine the differance is that immortality (a greek concept btw) is "a spring of life inside of the person that dosent need to be sustained". Everlasting life is living forever but being sustained by external forces (meaning the desert god).

March Broadcast- Jehovah is speeding up the work

i watched some of the segments on the jw broadcast.

in the video they showed how they managed their inventory orders for the congregations.

at the conclusion it was stated by the narrator how god is speeding up the work.. the problem is the system they implemented has been used for over two decades in logistics.

Totally hoser! In fact, while i always could see the "business" aspect of the religion, more than ever it feels "corporate" in way i never imagined.

Indeed. Long gone are the days when the wtbs was an innovator. They were a decade behind the internet and are still lagging in so many technical areas.

I also have to lol at the idea of the desert god speeding up the work.. That claim is a 100 years old. The poor guys is either extremely ineffective at speeding things up or the organization is moving so fast it appears to be standing still. How much faster can it possibly go adter 100 years of acceleration lol ?

seeing as to how i've been trying to "love bomb" him and trying to bring out his original persona by having him talk about old times with our hobbies, etc.

The best policy, imho, is what you did.... Don't overreact. Offer your view, smile and move on. Fighting the cult mindset isnt won through overt punchs, its encouraging the things you mentioned, free thought being the most critical. I get miles better results with my kids when i simply ask them "what do YOU think" and reafrirm any answer that isnt the cults. Him offering you a tract is no big deal. He maybe didnt want anything more than to see how you would react or maybe he just wanted to reach out to you and that was an easy way that came to mind. Offer to do something with him that saturday immediatly after the memorial.

Kewpie, i agree people shouldnt be mocked simply because english isnt their first language.

I think in this case it stems from two root causes:

1) in the united states and other primarly english language cultures, many fraud artists send spam emails that are very poorly written and translated into english via google or similar means. Those phising emails come acrros reading very much like the OP here. Given the very dubious nature of the OP it all adds up to a very spammy or phishy reading post.

2) its relevant because the service department (and all others for that matter) at headquarters here in the USA are all english speaking. For the poster to have so much trouble posting in english casts another shadow of doubt on his claims. If the language barrier between english and whatever his or her native tounge may be is so signifigant how could they possibly effectivly communicate with the english speaking service department, let alone fordge friendships strong enough to get access to confidential information regarding a future relaxing of the "shunning" policy?

Thus it seems relevant in this case and for those reasons to question the posters grasp of english. Further, as noted before, i actually DO have "friends" (former aquantinces who would shun me if they knew i was apostate) in writing and service. They have both assured me that absolutly no information is forthcomming regarding a relaxing of any policy on DF'ing or the so called shunning aspect of it.

The OP is complete and total malarky.
