I have a unique perspective in this case living so near baltimore. I have worked in baltimore, we go to dinner in baltimore all the time, hang out at the harbor etc etc...
Its foolish to look at riots that people presume involve white people (like the sporting events cited) and claim a double standard locally. the college kids at UMD riot all the time when the basketball team wins.... Amd you see and hear the the EXACT same calls for police presence. The hoodliums are most definatly called rioters, because thats what they are. They are arrested and prosecuted as they damn well should be. I live it every damn time they do it. I litterally clean up and repair the damage as a local utility worker. I will be in baltimore next week helping there....
it is definatly local kids doimg the majority of the damage but it is most certainly outsode agitators fanning the flames and inciting them to riot. Various groups (like the black panthers) were holding rallies a few days ago, the rumours of last night were brewing for a day or two in advance. It was so prevalent local police, emts and utility compaines were put on alert.
One noteworthy differance though, between fools rioting after a sports win and this civil unrest is the type of damage. The riots after sports wins involve damage to cars , they are know to set utility poles on fire and generally cause damage to property.... These riots, while causing damage to property also are causeing physical harm to people. Not acidentally or in an ancillary way. They are assulting people and looting buissness, something unheard of when local sports teams win. Also after ansporting event buissnes are never looted, at least not locally. It jist dosent happen like that....
This is ludicrous, it's embarrassing for me to say i live here and i hate the fact that im going to listen the locally dubbies cry about how this shows the end is near, as if the riots in the 1960's never happened.

by OneFingerSalute inso today's wt seems to put out the idea that during early christian times it was god's hand that made the romans build roads, have strong laws, etc.
to make the preaching easier.. anyone else notice that?
some here really banged on about how great it was that god did that, just for them.

by sowhatnow ini was having a discussion with my sister yesterday, and she said to me,'mom told me that if dad dies at armageddon, she cant get remarried in the new system' .
i told he i have never heard such a thing, but i do recall that it was believed that anyone who dies now, cannot be married in the 'new world' because they are to be as angels in heaven.. she said , so why be resurrected if yiu cant live your dream of having a loving mate and perfect children?
god is still dictating to you how you will live.

Its a classic case of the wt trying to have it both ways. Jesus said that in the resurrection men are not given in marriage but are like the angels... John something verus something or other.
It was always seemed clear jesus was talking about heavenly life and every other word the man spoke is applied to the anointed only, but that one particular verus they apply to anyone resurrected. I think it appealed to freddy and the other unmarried old men to apply that standard of "perfection" to everyone in the desert gods little hell on earth. Forget that fact that adam, the original perfect man, wanted to get laid...no no, in the new world you wont want it. More control of natural urges.

I dont find anything objectionable in and of itself but as others have noted, its telling that year after year people have to told to act christian at christian assemblies.....its almost as if being at FIVE MEETINGS A WEEK AND FIELD SERVE US ISNT ENOUGH! -

Its an interesting question to me becuase it highlights a reality: so many dont donate and are a drain. I wasnt giving money even when i was beliver. I felt my intense physical efforts were quite enough.
But why does the org try so hard to keep people around who dont belive, dont contribute and on some level drain resources? The only answer i can come up with is that the keeping the slackers around is worth it to ensure the faithful dont wake up. I simply vow to be the biggest drain and most disruptive influance i can.. But its sad they go through so much trouble to try to make people stay who dont want to be there

anyone can attend meetings. To be reconized as a publisher they would have to terminated the marriage which wouldnt be a valid union in the desert gods eyes anyway and maintain selerate residances while ceasing a homosexual life style.
As hold me noted, no ody should take up with jehovahs witnesses to begin with.
