@vidiot - i was affirimng that indeed the "lynn" in question is a man and that the paper must have made a mistake in using the pronoun "she". It was confirmed beyond doubt on page two that the lynn in question was is a man as i stated originally. -

@pbrow- i was merely stating the jw view of things not representing my own view. My mock gasp at the "handling of money" remark reflects the fact that my mother is significant person in local area finance and, dispite her accomplishments professionally and the tens of millions of dollars she is responsible for daily, she couldnt handle a thousand bucks of JW money. Irony. -

Contributions, lets do a survey.
by Driving Force inthere is a lot of talk on how much the organization has and how much they receive in contributions.
now with the latest begging video from lett, maybe we as an ex jw community, try to figure this out together.. this is just an idea and i want to get other opinions on this.. if enough members who actually know the figures from their (last) kh for the building fund and other contributions are willing to enter this information on a website, we can use these figures to estimate the actual amount the organization is receiving from the publishers.. the figure will never be accurate, but i think it would be fun..

however there is another even more basic premise i have pondered at times as well (im sure im not the first of course) : would any loving parent ever hide from their children?
consider it... our all knowing all loving father hides from us even though we cry out to know him.

Very interesting point rebel. Its lomg standing tradition in this organizarion to never ever record a prayer. They feel it hould always be offered "live" so that even when a program is recorded and broadcast to a large group they will pause the telecast, a local person will pray, and then the recorded telecast will proceed -

And that freemind is part of my point... Leaving a letter from two thousand years ago thats not even the original letter or in a language i can read but expecting me to "know you" through it? Who would say a human father is loving because he did that instead of any level of personal contact when personal contact is easily doable. This isnt a father who died or is in jail... Hes the all powerful master of the universe! He supposoblyly has spoken to a select few.....its rediculious.
