VW emissions cheating and driverless cars
by Simon inwhen i first heard about this it sounded like they just had a mode that was optimizing the vehicle's emission levels which sounded good.. turns out, they were detecting when a car was being tested to cheat the control system.. http://www.bbc.com/news/business-34311819.
their shares are down 19% - but larger than the financial fallout is the trust.
this is the worlds largest car manufacturer!.

The sad reality is that eventually the nanny state will presume that its safer for a computer to drive and people will fairly quickly take the lazy way out and let the car do the driving. I will personally become a shut in and never leave my house before i let the car drive. I LOVE driving... But many do not and view it as a chore. They will call it progress and bang the aforementioned safety drum. They will win, sadly. Part of me will die. -

Today I learned - I'm incapable of having a relationship
by Garrett inhello my dear friends,.
while this post may not be entirely witness related, i figured i'd write out my thoughts here as a form of release and reflection.. recently, a lot has changed in my life.
i'm away from home for the first time in a long while training to get certified in a field i'm not even sure i want to work in anymore.

How incredibly poignant. Its often been said that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If anyone is entertaining thoughts of hurting yourself, please, please reach out to someone! -

Do you feel embarrsed?
by The Rebel inwhen you look through a keyhole, and see the person you once were?.
as for myself, i am just pleased i have mended my ways.
i realise ( now) my time as a witness was a keyhole that looked in to the ground, and licked the elders arse.

Come on man, english isnt everybodys first language. Hell, thor knows i struggle sometimes and english IS my first language. Its hard enough dealing with the cult no need to kick each other as well. -

Peter answers the questions of when are the last days and what Generation all in one chapter
by Crazyguy inin chapter 2 of acts ,this is the seen of pentecost and the speaking of tongues.
people started freaking out thinking these people are drunk an peter gets up and says in verses 16-17 these people are not drunk this in the fulfilment of the prophecy written in joel.
he goes on to describe all these things and those accomplishes by jesus and says these are the last days.

Very true but the dubbies would say there was a past and a modern fulfillment (for which there is NO evidence of course) -

That's it! The Jesus stories are most reasonably explained as myth. History makes this obvious.
by Island Man ina careful examination of the historical pagan religious context existing at the time of the genesis of christianity leads any reasonable person to conclude that jesus is just another one of several similar myths.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn7teoa9ark.

Islandman, i have my doubts on this as well. There is certainly some cause to doubt there was a biblical jesus. In the same manner there is plenty of room to doubt that there was a Buddha or even Mohamed if you really want to question things. I fall into the category of people with SSC and others who have noted whether there was a religious man jesus of nathzarith or not he was most certainly was not the son of a bronze age desert god of the hebrews and he isnt comming back anytime soon.
For me that changes the discussion from one of true deep meaning and significance to one of a more academic "who would win in a fight between a zombie and a werewolf" type of thing.
i leave the following as It seems relevant here:

As a born in this is all knew. When i realized ttatt i didnt feel embarrassed because its how i was raised but i can understand why some may feel that way if they were sucked in as an adult. I dont think its justified, mind you, but i can understand why someone may feel that way.
part of what you describe may be more accurately described as personal growth and looking back from a more mature place, cult or no. I have certainly felt that as ive grown but again thats not tied to the cult so much as its just normal human maturation.
