Interesting points..... Also consider the reason for filling chapter 7/11 is to protect assets and deal with creditors... Would that apply to the wt? What assets are up as collateral and what would need protection? Would there be hope for them to pay off debt? If not what would happen? A sell off?

Its an interesting question cognac.... If this were a normal company/corporation the answer would be "when it makes financial sense to do so"

the variable here is that they arnt just a corporation, they are a religious cult corporation. The extra 'god is on our side' aspect may drive them to do some otherwise foolish things... My answer though is ultimately: when it makes financial sense to do so. They will spin it the rank and file as a sign of the end type thing, play it up as "we gave it all up for the sake of the good news" blah blah blah.....

the really interesting thing is that it could happen! They were so stable fo so long its facinating to see it as a possibility

ive been lurking for a while and finally got around to registering.

about me: i was essentially born in & indoctrinated from youth.

i was always a borderline "bad association" type because i always did the minimum and always disagreed with much of what was taught; even when i was a child.. luckily for me my father was never a jw so i never had to endure the male head pressure.

a single sister in her 40s and her two single daughters were visiting my mom.

i would say her daughters are in their early 20s.

my mom got sleepy and we put her to bed but the three sisters stayed to finish their drinks..

the magnificence seven have the ability to transform a christian fundamentalist religion into a tv / audio provider combined with a property investment department.. so what can we do?

my thoughts are about a global, world wide return of us, people with a different vision, sometimes called faders, apostates, mentally disordered, non-believers to the kingdom hall under the name "project recapture".. it's easy.

Gorby, its a lovely idea. I agree with much of it.. But there are some aspects i dont.

I don't subscribe to the christain ethos completely anymore, although i do appreciate and respect some of the principles it teaches.

I also have seen that going back once you leave dosent convince anyone to leave, it only entrenchs them more. You came back, after all. They teach fear and propaganda regarding leaving and you or anyone else comming back only feeds the 'see we told you so ' aspect.

If your fading and stuck in then i do see great good that can be done but purposely going back just to try and set a good example is a journey into frustration amd self inflicted misery.

@dune- nope, no exjw connection that i am aware of. The original "script" is pretty old, predating the internet i believe. You can google it and find it all over. I think it was originally attributed to a pastor of some sort but that didnt make a lot of sense to me. In any event its been around for a while but they guys filmed it as you see in that video. There have been others to film it as well but that one by "nimpsy" is just so well done i cant even watch anyone elses. A small bit of casting humor: the original script had the taller man, the bald one, written as woman named mary. the way he plays it still refersnces the original female gender making the parts referring to the bibles view of homosexuality even more ironic and funny.

Also just want to throw a node to OTWO for that one. He was the one who first posted it (that i saw anyway).
