I greatly appreciate the efforts of so many to draw attention to these issues in wt policy that are truly life and death. Its thankless work but so valuable

Watchtower Policy Makes Informed Consent Improbable
by Lee Elder inwatchtower misinformation on blood, coupled with coercion equals undue influence, and makes informed consent nearly impossible for most jw's in life or death situations.

contradictory statements?
by aboveusonlysky ini'm always interested to hear what a 'spokesman' for the organization has to say when newspapers report on child abuse issues.. for example the following statement was made in a recent guardian article.
a spokesman for the jehovah’s witnesses said: “we are in no position to, and neither would we wish to, force any victim of abuse to confront their attacker.”.
and this is straight from the shepherd the flock book -.

Two thoughts
1) The spokes weasel said "force". Thats their built in escape. They will simply say such meetings wernt "forced".
2) The ks says to call legal before arranging a meeting of that nature. Legal will advise against it.
Im no fan of the goddamn cult but the spokes weasel left enough wiggle room that its not a real gotcha monent

It makes me nostalgic in its own way. The 97 parking ramp is where all new laundry delivery guys got initiated , meaning pushed delivery racks up the ramp until they puked.

Is disassociating worth the hassle?
by HereIgo ini have been out now for 6 years but lately i have been giving some thought to da.
i just kind of feel that chapter in my life is still open and for some reason i feel like da'ing might close that chapter but i'm not entirely sure.

The answer to the original post is easy...
obviously no.
Unless the answer is yes.
The beautiful thing about leaving the bonds of slavery is that we are free to choose what course of action makes the most sense to us and to us alone. It dosent matter what the org think or members of the congregation think or even anyone else on this forum. If it means something to you to DA then its worth every ounce of effort, worth every penny of ink or byte of data to send the email. Or not if you dont want to be bothered with it all.

Re: New Feature on jw.org for Processing Recommendations of Elders and Ministerial Servants
Dear Brothers:
As a follow-up to our letter dated July 13, 2014, to all bodies of elders, we are pleased to inform you that the Web version of the Recommendations for Appointment of Elders and Minis- terial Servants (S-62) form is now available on jw.org. For those who are able to access jw.org, it will no longer be necessary for you to send PDF versions of the S-62 form to your circuit over- seer.
Once logged in to jw.org, you can access this new feature under the “Congregation” tab. Under “Members,” click on “Elders and Servants.” The congregation secretary (or another brother who has been granted the “Enter Member Information” role) may enter the information for the S-62 form by clicking on “Enter Recommendations.”
For more information on how to use this feature, click on “Help.” Locate “Congrega- tion,” then “Members,” then click on “Elders and Ministerial Servants.”
All the policies stated in the July 13, 2014, letter apply to this new method of submitting the S-62 form on jw.org. Your circuit overseer will automatically be notified of any recommen- dations you submit. When submitting an S-62 form in connection with a recommendation for reappointment, it will now be possible to upload the letter of recommendation from the previous congregation.
We trust that this new feature will improve the processing of recommendations of elders and ministerial servants. Please accept an expression of our warm Christian love.

To all JDub lurkers: How can you continue to preach knowing that you are telling lies?
by macys inthis is a damn serious question.
you must know by now that jerusalem was not destroyed in 607 bce and that 607 was initially picked by ct russell by using his "pyramid scheme" measurements.
there is no hiding these facts yet you continue to preach this nonsense.

Ah my favorite topics :) The sanctimonious self righeous telling of other people how to live their lives!
I pray everyday that Thor prevent me from being an exjw.....

Elders, oh my God what a bunch of losers!
by Crazyguy inok i don't mean to put all of them into just one box so to speak, their are some that are smart successful etc.
but my god most of them are just wasted space, ignorant, no drive, horrible jobs, make nothing for income and the only thing in life they have going for them is this title.
no wonder so many will not wake up and hold on to this stupid cult, it's all they have.

Former elder here, have to disagree with the premise of the OP. Its easy to take shots at the supposed authority figures of the cult but in the end they are just guys. Some are jerks some are good guys, they are just people. I was never a loser or in any what you described. I made 6 figures this year, have always been a driven and dedicated guy, fairly intelligent (certainly not a dummy) and at the very least my kids and dog would disagree that i was ever a waste of space. On a good day a few others may stick up for me as well...
My only point being, painting all of any one group with a broad brush is a bad idea, be it all of a race, all of a gender or even all of a religion.
