in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).
it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.

So my question becomes, then, why cite that case? It appeared you were citing it as proof of OC’s claim that these things happen often, in contridiction to my claim that they dont.
My end game point is that the action taken in russia is extreme and awful. It dosent happen in western lands. Its bizzare and sickening to see posters like brokeback tap dance on these families misery and heartache as if it somehow justifies their hard feelings toward the wt.

Dark, very disingenuous to cite this case as the courts taking a child from parents over jw beliefs.
The FATHER made the claim NOT the state. It was a very contentious divorce according to the courts records and there were huge issues raised by both parents making neither of them viable as gardians in the view of the courts.
This type of misrepresentation is exactly what i accused of orphan of. Courts absolutely intervene to order medical treatment over a parents religious objections, and not just jw religious objections. What western courts dont do is take children from otherwise competent parents over religious views. You have offrered no proof otherwise.

Orphan- i would challange you to offer any proof that children are taken away from parents in western lands over the blood issue. Perhaps what you mean is that courts intervene and order treatment. That is very different than seeing children removed from homes permanently. It dosent happen.

And to further echo the points made by others, your anology is terribly flawed.
You seem to assume that “math” or ”mathematics” is a set of established facts taught by wrote and that you can compare god to those facts in so much as god is a set of facts and that an innacurate teacher could misrepresent the facts but not change them.
math is the study of objects and their relationships. There are accepted premises and those proofs are demonstrated and demonstrable.... but the field of math and mathematics is ever growing and ever evolving.
God has no proofs, nothing that can be demonstrated or demonstrable. Nothing that can be successfully tested and, as every math teacher says every class “show your work”.
Belief in god is all feeling and intuition.
Prove otherwise and i will believe.

He sounds like every other minister in every other religion. In fact hes fairly dull and uninspired. If you played that in court the jury would fall asleep.
Dont let your apostate hate blind you to reason. Record that type of talk all you want, no court in any western land would view that as extremist or dangerous. The real danger in the watchtowers language is always hidden from the public. Its the words between the lines, the actions encouraged before and after the meetings, the implied directions that all witnesses understand.
that talk is proof of you seeing what you want to see and nothing more. The calm directions from the chairmen before hand are proof that jw’s are trying to avoid conflict.
