    what do you think they're hiding?.

    The names of the perpetrators, victims, third parties, church communications, and lawyer/client communications.

    Why do you think Plaintiffs didn't proceed with the case on its merits?

    Class action lawsuits and all sorts of sexual assault lawsuits would spring up over night. They are hiding that.

    Another reason is because if they do and its found out by the inquiring court that the WTS has thousands of situations on file , that could ramp up causative penalties, those bits of information could be used on other future court cases against the WTS.

    Who knows if the media could get a hold of those files, that could really hurt them if the news media came out and stated that the JWS religion has thousands of cases of pedophilia that occurred which were never reported to the police. ........ big time damage

    Just think about the ARC that was conducted here in Australia with 1006 cases of child sexual abuse handled by Elders that were never reported to the authorities or police over the past 35? years .With a population of about 60-70 thousand Jehovah`s Witnesses.

    Now compare that with how many Jehovah`s Witnesses there are in the USA and what the ratio is likely to be with child sexual abuses in the congregations their.

    If somebody more adept than me can do the correlation I would appreciate it.

    While I`m at it the ARC is due to give it`s final recommendations in mid December and in light of what has recently been shown on JW.Org that the two witness rule is non negotiable even in child sexual abuse cases ,I wonder how the ARC will respond to that statement.

    Also the fact that Jehovah`s Witnesses will not get in bed with Christendom ,how will they get around a communal compensation of religions for the abused ? suggested by the ARC?

    All of the above. how will they get around a communal compensation of religions for the abused ? I could say they will contact the branch office.. :( but I dont often resort to sarcasm;

    they are scared to reveal just who IS an offender....

    Not hard to get df from JW: If you watch porn, or smoke; and if you miss a lot of meetings you get shunned. How much more they will do to someone who is a child molestors. Albeit meetings and fs is not a daycare and parents should not trust anyone with their precious kids -and then blame watchtower.

    Not much that's the problem, if someone came out and brought the matter to the elders they would say well you cant do anything if there wasn't two witnesses and the person who was accused says they didn't, so will just have to leave the situation in Jehovah's hands.

    The WTS in the past used to intimate JWS who were thinking about reporting the incident to the police, that was the other problem.

    The WTS and its enforcing minions the elders were more concerned about protecting the image of the organization, inside or outside.

    @Fisherman - Do you personally have the opinion that Jehovah's Witnesses handle child sexual abuse allegations in a way that protects children to the best of human abilities? If not, where do you think they fall short? If you do, please highlight the ways in which they best serve children in these cases through their policies.

    Fink, what is so difficult about watching and protecting your own kids? Sad to say, parents who don't trust anyone with their valuable things, for example, go lend someone 10,000 dollars or less, but they are not that careful in trusting someone with their kids. Would they trust such a person they give their kids to with money or their car, etc?
