Interview with Dagney
by Dagney intell us a little about yourself and your family.. i was born and raised in southern california, with a brief stint with parents as need-greaters in central america.
my parents accepted a study in the d2d work, i believe my father was interested in the revolutionary aspect of the religion, and my mom said she wanted to learn the bible.
they were baptized in 1937 i think, and attended the one and only los angeles kh at the time.

interview with an apostate- morpheus
by _Morpheus inwhen i saw simons thread and the "interview" series of threads that came from it i really enjoyed reading the life stories of those that shared.
a bump for newer people seems like a good idea and i figured i would add mine as well.
again, thanks to simon for the concept of a guided interview thread and the template.. tell us a little about yourself and your family.. hmmm... easy question, hard answer.

Now now, no need to compare dieties. If you worship women i dont judge. I prefer thor. He’s the everyman deity, a hang out and drink some mead kinda guy ;)
And thank you all for reading and your kind words

advice please/data protection
by Phoebe ini have just received an email from an elder's wife regarding the new data protection laws.
between the lines it sounds like she has been asked to contact me.. she says they 'don't want to leave me out' so they want me to fill out the form as 'i'm still part of the congregation'.
also, my blood card needs updating, apparently.. the elder in charge will be in contact.. obviously, i'm not doing either, but what do i do?

Just to go along with blues brother, this is a box ticking exercise for the local boys at the direction of the branch. It will fade away in a month or two as the hamster wheel spins on. There is always some form or some report they need to file and they will go away.

I agree with stan. Ignore it. No need to address it until they press the issue. If the matter is pressed, Politely decline without giving a reason.

Governing Body vs Local Elder Body
by Boredposter inshortly before my exit a youngish elder who recently came from brooklyn bethel commented to me how the local elder meetings were like the wild wild west.
according to him in brooklyn there was a very definite way to handle things.
he seemed to imply the brooklyn bethel way was better.. after seeing gb member splaines video about how elders could come to an united decision i was reminded of this.. i had to wonder about this then and i wonder now.

One thing that really hit me about ray franz book was how his description of the gb elder meetings was IDENTICAL to the local edwrs meetings i was in. Its always a big personality pushing for their own agenda, yes men who go along with it, maybe one or two who really want to the “right thing” for the congregation. Brooklyns way is the same way as it is everywhere else. People are people.

Interview With An Apostate: LoveUniHateExams
by LoveUniHateExams inme too, i had to have a study with a jw.
then, a month or two later, another one of my ‘worldly’ mates (dan) asked me “are you going out with emma?” i told him no.
dan had also asked rob himself and rob had said that he wasn’t involved with emma.
