I agree on the quote button.
I was also used to seeing the post number and join date under the gravatar of members when they post. It was nice seeing how long someone's been on this site.
Otherwise, this improvement is great!
Thanks, Sam!
i suffer from depression and have also been diagnosed with asperger's syndrome, so it is not surprising that about 20 minutes ago i was feeling very depressed about the new look of my favourite ex jw forum, that is, this one.
i have been living under a rock obviously because i had no idea any change was about to happen.. now i am beginning to understand how it works, everything is ok or soon will be.
i like the like button and have already used it once.. now you understand why i left the borg.

i was going through old email and i came across the below email from a former acquaintance of mine who is a jw.
when we were both jw's, we were both pretty liberal in our beliefs.
its quite interesting how cognitive dissonance kicks in, for many & not too much for others.
People who are brainwashed generally don't know they're brainwashed. This person has no idea what's going on, and his grammar definitely helps his point.
i never really understood this.
at least, after i started thinking about it recently.. if jesus died for our sins, wouldn't everyone be saved?
what's the point of saying that his death gave all humans the chance to die if, appearantly, only 8 million people out of 7 billion will live?.
The problem goes deeper than that. Why would we need a 'ransom'? because of the talking snake?.The twirling swords? -Prologos |
It goes even deeper. Why did God even create "Satan" if he could see into the future and see that he "rebelled"?
i never really understood this.

I could see that his death would mean non-Jews could be saved, but that didn't seem to go in effect until Peter preached to the non-Jew Cornelius.
This, in turn, leads me to question: WHO will actually be saved and what should people do? The Bible seems to give contradictory/different ways to be saved. At one point it says you should confess your sins to God. At another it says to call on The Lord's name. The Bible also gives other ways to be saved. One could say you'd have to do all of those things, but since they're not mentioned in a single sermon, then that would make it hard for pre-Gospel followers to keep track of the requirements.
I still find it sad that many people in the Jecultah's Blindness religion haven't been awakened simply by reading the Bible and actually, JW propoganda-free, independently reflecting on what it says and teaches.
What are your thoughts?

i don't know how to insert the video.
i thought i'd share my music here for those that are insterested in ambient stuff.. .
Really impressive music!
Do you make dub step, too? I love good dubstep.
Hard-core or chill? :O
maybe neither.
just noticed this network name in the list of nearby networks.. i'm wondering if this is a jw or dare i dream, a visitor of jw.net.

i'm atheist and not ashamed of it.
however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.
i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?
I agree with Terry 100%. I'm neither an atheist nor a theist, I don't believe in evolution nor creationism. I believe that I simply can't believe in any specific idea because any idea could be true. I simply don't know.
i just watched it on dvd, and holy cow, i can see so many similarities to the watch tower!
i don't want to give anythng away for those who would like to see it, but i really wish the way it ended was a possibility in watch tower world..
I agree with Mum, any high control groups suh as Big Brother, the Giver society, Mazerunner (in a way, but I feel it isn't really high control in the same way), and others simulate the Watchtower Society with striking accuracy.
hello one and all.. the local jws had a booth set up at my university today and something just came over me.
i went to a computer, found a list of failed prophecies, printed and stapled it, and walked over to the middle aged woman and the 10-ish years old girl.
the woman said "if you are interested in anything, take it for free.
I applaud you for your move. You did an excellent and wise thing. :D
eight year old getting baptized!
(from a jw site.
this 8 year old sister was the youngest of the 31 who were baptized at a regional convention in bogo city, cebu, philippines on the weekend.
An extremely sad thing to have a young child dedicate herself to Jewhore's Wittynesses. I think it's sad in general that many people getting baptized don't know what they're getting themselves into.
