I'm not sure i qualify, but you can read the book of Israel Finkelstein, he is overqualified.
"The bible Unearthed"
i stumbled across a scripture today.
it's numbers 13:33 "and there we saw the nephilim, the sons of anak, who are from the nephilim, and in comparison we seemed like grasshoppers, both to us and to them.. now if they honestly believed that they saw the nephilim, it would mean that some nephilim would have had to survive the flood or that the hijinks of the fallen angels before the flood, happened again shortly thereafter.
the only other thing i can come up with is that nephilim was some kind of generic word that implied giant proportions, but not necessarily the nephilim.. comments from the more educated appreciated.. silent.

"The bible Unearthed"
the new forum originally had a little country flag next to each post showing the country that the post was made from based on the geoip encoding (the country the ip address is from).
before i switched over to the new site someone made an issue about it violating their privacy and i didn't want to complicate and confuse the switchover with policy debate at the same time as technical issues so removed the flags even though i disagreed.. someone has already requested it as a feature and i think it should be added back so i thought it's now time to open the discussion and get everyone's opinions.
first, the reason i think it should be shown:.
Also, I can even see a kind of tradition or rite of passage developing, whereby whenever someone with the generic flag has fully extricated himself from Watchtower and is no longer afraid of or care about, being shunned or DF'd he goes into his profile and changes the flag from being generic to being his actual flag signalling to all that he is finally free, having fully escaped Watchtower's stateless "no part of this world" prison and rejoined the real world society of his homeland.
I really like this idea
i mean, anyone with a real bible and half a brain doesn't need to log onto a website and read nonsense.. its not a bible study when you present someone a book or magazine to read along in.. its not the gospel, when its not about jesus.
so what is being pushed in the service meeting to be done at doors?.
and with what result expected?
And Yes! Here too, we have the same bullshit to give money....
WTS don't want only $$$$! WTS wants a lot of €€€€ too !!!
yes- everyone has faults and makes mistakes; an organization even more so.. yet, you ignore all the fingers pointing at you.. many here have no faith.
many here go to churches who lie about everything biblical; look at x-mas!.
but at least we know god and christ and try to live up to their name!.
I read here at JWN that preaching in muslim countries is only done to ex-pats and Christian minorities. Could somebody confirm this?
It's possible : Muslims are more dumb in their "Truth" thing than the more dumb of the more dumb of the JW...

The generic flag can have an icon on it that conveys the impression of being a fugitive of Watchtower in hiding to indicate that we do not want our location being known. Just an idea.
Yep! Like an irony, why not use the flag of the UNO ? It's already the flag given to the stateless person in exil proceduries!

Is all religion somewhat toxic to spiritual growth? Is there a middle ground?
It's quiet easy : IMO
-All those, organisation or individuals, who will teach you WHAT to think, are toxic
-All those, organisation or individuals, who will teach you HOW to think, set you free
Then, yes all religions are toxic!
well today the watchtower conductor makes the statement that "the tv.jw.org web site is proof that we have jehovah's blessing because such an endeavor would have been impossible without his help".
of course that causes all of the bobbing heads in full agreement.
i wonder what god blessed cbs, abc, and nbc to get up and going and offer their programming?.

Never could understand such touchiness over a few capped words....
You can't understand why we emphasis the word you emphasis?
OMG!!!

Those religions are complete fabrications.
I agree with you... But don't forget yours too...
