JWs have more good points than bad
by lsw1961 in1) many who were on the destructive path have been transformed by their teachings (this includes me who was once vicious, and presumptuous and atheistic).
2) equal monthly pay to all members of the bethel community regardless of whether they are bc members or sweepers.
this is something that still remains as an unattainable dream for the world.

Grags before going to far into your studies with jw's look up jwfacts.com. This particular organization is a captive one. My grandparents became witnesses almost a century ago. I decided to leave a year ago after I almost lost my son because of the jw blood doctrine.
I now am starting over at 40 having lost all my family and friends because I chose not to enslave my children to this high control group. There shunning policies are similar to the scientologists, and amish. Please do your research before committing yourself.
The people you are studying with will likely tell you that people here are a bunch of malcontent complainers. Not to listen to what is said here or other non pre-approved sources. Yet ask yourself how much research you put into buying an appliance or choosing a restaurant to eat at. Truth has nothing to fear from the light of criticism/clear thinking. If something is a lie it will not hold up.

My son almost died in 2012 had it not been for the courts. Leukemia diagnosis he was 5 at the time. Now 8 and doing well.
A dear friend died in November/December of 2013 of leukemia when my wife and I were just starting to wake up. Theresa Mirabel Rowland Heights, CA. She was in her late 50s.
My wife even found a special treatment center that felt good about her treatment plan. She needed a blood transfusion first in order to be strong enough to travel. She died within a month of being diagnosed and left behind a 17 year old son who was scheduled for heart surgery this year.

Wow ISW you really do live in your own private Idaho. I love that you quoted an atheist at the end there. Probably didn't even know that due to your brainwashing.
I don't know if I should be irritated with you or just sorry for you. A little of both. It truly is astonishing how hard our mind works to make our belief systems deal with reality. You are a tremendous example of cognitive dissonance, and bias. Type in "bending truth" into YouTube if you dare. You may learn some uncomfortable truths about your current dialogue here that will likely cause you to lose sleep at night.
Simon - maybe we can send this correspondence to a University that specializes in cognition biases and there effects.

Is the Borg winding down printing altogether?
by slimboyfat inthe thread about magazines stopping distribution in india reminded me of a recent conversation.
a local brother said he asked for a copy of the new organisation book for publishers.
the elder told the brother to print it out if he wanted a physical copy.

Yes I remember I worked on the damn thing. On and on about 60 to 70 thousand magazines a minute. The only good thing about it was that I've destroyed more magazines than the vast majority of jws will ever touch in their lifetime. Wish I could destroy some more. -

Personal experiantial anecdotes. Look beyond yourself ISW1961 if it's possible. Grow up and do some research. If you like the blind bliss of being a JW so much have at it. I just hope your not condemning children, or helpless strangers in the so called ministry to the captivity you revel in. -

I left for my children and suffered the loss of all my so called friends and family. Knowing that this is a captive organization I could not condemn them to the potential loss that I have had to endure. Since I'm 3rd Gen. on both sides of my family I was born into this high control group. When my grand parents became witnesses shunning was condemned as a non biblical practice. Something I only found out about after I left. -

ISW - many of the points you make are directly from GB approved material. Any entity or group has good they can highlight. Truth however withstands the tests of critical fire. If you have truth it has nothing to fear from examination from outside sources.
This forum is full of ex jws at differing phases in their life. Try putting yourself in one of our shoes for a moment as it is to easy to pass something off as it doesn't happen because it hasn't happened to you or someone you know. Imagine your child being abused and having it brushed under the rug, or losing your child because you didn't give them a blood transfusion. The latter almost happened to me if it hadn't been for the courts. I was going along just fine I thought. An elder, wt. conducter, ex-bethelite, parts on conventions and assemblies. Then bang my son gets leukemia and the next thing you know I'm in the hospital with hlc fighting the hospital over a blood transfusion that would save his life. Thankfully they gave it to him and 3 years later almost done with treatment and a 90% remission rate.
Please continue your journey as people's lives are at stake and not just your own if you have children or grandchildren. I believe this site is better after you have done some initial research. I recommend going to YouTube and typing in "Only In Christ" start with the Gods Channel series as it lays out the history you are likely unaware of as a JW because it is not from the GB. Next listen to the audio of Crisis of Conscious by Ray Franz ex GB member. There is no vitriol in his tone as proclaimed of so called apostates. You can download his book as well. I would then recommend going to jwfacts.com. Then come back here with some real knowledge, not what's been spoon fed to you by wt.
