My brother died last night
by LisaRose ini found out this morning that my brother died last night, he was also an ex jw, 73 years old and died of heart disease and kidney failure.
it was not totally unexpected, as he had been in poor health, but it's a blow, especially as i just lost another brother two years ago.
there were six of us, now only four.

This week's study article about shunning is contradictory.
by Sanchy ini was reading this week's study article on remaining loyal to jah.

they cite two experiences.

I was thinking of sending a picture to my family of my bald 6 year old son when he was going through intensive chemo treatment for leukemia. The title would be "SHUNNED" -

Atomant. Tell that to my family who avoid me like the plague. I've been there for every one of my siblings and their children throughout my entire life.
I'm not DF'd or DA'd. Had a party for my son finishing his chemo treatment for leukemia and they didn't even respond to my open invite.

It's alive and well. Im not DA'd or DF'd and all my siblings ignored my invitation to come to my 8 year old son's end of chemo party. It truly is disgusting what this group brings people to. -

Fisherman the despicable disgusting JW apologist. How do you live with yourself while children in this group suffer as you continue to defend the abusers. Sickening. Your immorality wreaks on these pages. -

A question on natural selection
by The Rebel inlast friday my boy of ten was very late back from school, so i called the school, they called the police, and to cut a long horrible exsperience short he had been helping a younger boy fly his kite.. but what has occurred to me is that when orlando was 5 years old he was totally dependent on mummy and daddy, whilst horses, cats, birds and other animals are born and are independent within days.. so my question on natural selection is, how are we humuns still here?.

The day my heart stopped. I was at University Studios Hollywood with friends from a neighboring hall who have a child with the same condition as my son. A cancer event funded by one of Eva Longorias group called Padres Contra del Cancer. There were 8 of us. There little girl was in a wheelchair that I was pushing through a crowded area. Our friends older daughter 7 was holding my daughter's hand 5.
After we got through this heavy traffic area and getting ready to get on an elevator. 5 to 10 minutes passed. I looked at our group to make sure we were all together and she was gone.
After about 10 to 15 minutes of chaotic panic. 1 adult with the kids, my wife in one direction, another adult back toward where we were coming from, and me climbing a pole like king Kong to try and get a view above the crowds. Security was on it after they saw me. Then I saw my friend walking toward me with my daughter in tow.
She let go of her friends hand halfway through the congested area and just stayed there waiting for us to find her. She wasn't crying or worried at all.

FISHERMAN - You are truly a disgusting individual. I wonder if your tone would be the same if your little girl had been treated as some of these little ones have. People like you remind me of the lengths jw minds go to in order to rationalize their beliefs. -

He is now 8. When he has his portocath removed from his chest later this month he will be enrolling in martial arts and baseball. He can't wait. He couldn't do it before because of the potential danger to his port that is right next to his heart. -

It has been a long road. Hopefully he is done with this. 90% remission rate and he has responded very well to his treatment.
Thank you for all your support and well wishes. It means a lot after losing so much of our prior support system.
Now I'm off to hold my kids as we watch a movie together.

We're Ashya Kings parents right?
by The Rebel indo you remember the case?
jehovers witness parents did a runner without telling the medical staff caring for their seriously ill child and took him to receive proton therapy in praque as this treatment was not available in the u.k.. first most importantly the good news, the boy was declared cancer free last march.. anyway i am sure at the time this issue would have created a lot of heated debate on the forum, as it was a case that created a media frenzy, with the parents and their jehovers witness religious beliefs being heavily critizised .
however as i followed the case i couldn't help but admire the parents, as i felt they would have acted indepentedly of both the jehovers witness organisation and the u.k medical advice, having in my opinion seriously thought the matter through, and then doing they thought was the best way for treatment.. so if you remember the case my questions are:-.

I was also driven by the blood transfusion issue. Had someone in the media asked me I probably would have lied about it and rationalized it by convincing myself it was for the best treatment with the least side effects out there.
I don't know what Ashyas parents were thinking but it would not surprise me in the least that he lied about the blood transfusion being a large part of their decision making process. Knowing it knocked there remission chances down to the 50 percentile is evidence of that likelihood.
