  No New Book To Study WTF

  it seems to me every year that the dc was the place to bring out "new light?

  " including a new and exciting book to sleep through study each and every week.

  Draw close to Jehova is the book till mai (?) 2005 - half a chapter per week (about 10 paragraphs an hour).

  The Watchtower's Deceptive Quotations

  frequently, the watchtower will quote church fathers to try to justify its cult-like version of christianity.

  example is a recent watchtower that cites tertullian as evidence that christians did not eat blood ( june 15, pg 29).. .

  Thanks metatron,
  that should clear the view about WT "authorities". If Tertullian is right at the one thing i should guess the other ideas also seems to be ok ... what a crap those WT writers do. The bad citations was a major point for leaving WTS for me.

  Could you maybe provide the details of the current one about blood you mentioned?

  did any of you read the entire bible once...?

  just wanted to know if any of you have read the entire bible?

  - i remember that it was mentioned in the congregation many times that this would be a requirement that we were to read the bible in its totality at least once and especially as elders!.

  i myself never had the time (or energy) to read the scriptures from cover to cover.

  In 1998 i got a schedule to read the bible in one year as it is used at bethel - 15 Minutes each day. Starting that year i read the bible 5 times according to this schedule (ok sometimes some chapters behind but i was able to manage). Last year i stopped with it (wonder why)

  Urijah was busy delivering warnings against Jerusalem and Judah?when King Jehoiakim ordered that Urijah be put to death, the prophet fled in fear to Egypt. That did not save him?brought back to Jerusalem, where he was killed. Now how is this any different than when David fled from King Saul. Was Urijah a coward and David a hero?

  And regarding Paul

  How would he counsel a brother (sister?) pursuing friendships with total strangers on the Internet?

  I'm sure he would encourage to meet personally and share "the truth" ... let say on an apostata fest

  Adapting to Low Meeting Attendance

  bookstudies can be more difficult to hold in personal homes because, if everyone shows up at once, the house may not.

  30 or more 'assigned' to the Kingdom Hall

  as with ours - where we don't attend anymore - we heard that somtimes there is only the elder with his family instead of 30 people. Maybe due to this 'adapting' they where able to shut down the BS i left alone.
