i usually open posts such as this one with disclaimer for the atheists/agnostics out there.

i respect your position and what i tried to do in posts like this one is discuss the bible, wether you believe the stories or not.. i believe it is well known that in jw doctrine it is thought that no one has ever seen god.

this teaching is also supplemented by the accounts of moises, where jehovah told him that no one can see him and yet live to tell the tale.. i, however, was always puzzled by some of the grammar in the bible where it seems to imply that god appeared to people.

I recently read an article stating that passages of this sort are codes for Kanbalistic tree of life progressions... And then there is always Ancient Aliens theory😱👽

I wish for all truth seekers we can finally have an honest answer but I'm discovering it's best just to live in the moment and embrace what's real, beauty of creation, loving relationships etc., turning away from empty arguments and conditional so-called friends and "theocratic family" .

Gaiam TV is fun if you are looking for possible quantum multidimensional explanations for passages such as these.

I remember my parents justifying being Dubs by claiming that "unlike Christendom, we don't pass a collection plate to pressure members for money". Since I faded out 5 years ago, man has the whole religion changed!!! Good thing I jumped off that lightening fast changing Ezekiel chariot organization . 😱

1) it personified the witness mantra that doing more for the org = happiness, doing not enough = misery.

Right on Morpheus ! The whole thing was completely propaganda for meetings. Funny how worldly boy didn't seek some of that "happiness at meetings" for himself. Guess he was too far gone in the world to not want that joy 🙏😳

You guys are so right. My favorite character was the worldly friend. He's happy, hard working, a loyal friend who gives sound advice and seems still single over the age of 21 (I hope) . He's the only one modeling sound healthy behavior! Go worldly guy!!!

Hello Everyone. I just finished watching True Story in my hotel room in Hawaii. Not knowing much about the movie and not recognizing the name of the murderer on trial but in the mood for a psychological thriller this movie was selected. Huge surprise! The movie was about a journalist and his relationship with Christian Longos (didn't check spelling).... The JW from Oregon who murdered his wife and kids!! Has anyone had a chance to watch it? The religion was barely mentioned but the comment was made that he was sending his family to a better place ... Of course he was referring to death pre Armageddon to paradise resurrection. I remember reading about him on this sight several months ago! Does anyone know this family or remember the story? He is on death row and writes independent articles for NY Times according to the movie. What a sick F$&@! Could be an interesting conversation starter with sheeple. Blessings!

i have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.

i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.

i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

It seems that with multiple corporations they probably shuffle the money out of one and the GB handlers tell the GB omg donations are down go get more...deficit spending because they made a large payment out to another holding company or hedge fund like they used in the funny deal with the Brooklyn properties. They are very wealthy and it's spread out on multiple financial statements. It all stinks! The friends just all had to buy iPads too. Pretty expensive...wtf? The starving dude spoon feeding the fatty cartoon above is right on , lmao

i havent gone to meetings in about 1 year and a half.

one of my neighbors who is a jw-lady told me that the co on the last visit said that its very likely that right after armageddon (which is just around the corner) the present governing body members will be in charge of the united states since they are familiar with the culture.

and that the apostles and early christians will be in charge of areas like china.

Golden Rule: Pure Garbage?

on another thread a poster made the comment that the golden rule was garbage.

she said it was arrogant and made assumptions.. i didn't want to derail that thread so i started another wondering if this is a common thought about this belief on this forum.

i guess i naively thought the value of doing to others as you want them to do to you was generally accepted as positive.. i understand people have different opinions of jesus as a person but i don't want to get into that here.

physics asserts that for every action there is an equal reaction and on the quantum side , you are basically doing whatever it is to yourself. So, take care to act in a way that honors the free will of others while maintaining appropriate balance and boundaries of your own. Promote what you want not what you don't. Either way it will come right back acha.

My sons first talk

quick backstory:raised a jw, ms, reg pioneer, international need greater work.

i have been da for 2 years, divorced, ex and my son live 6 hours away near walkill ny.. my sons first talk is coming up, in august.

he is 7 years old.

Definitely go! He will always remember his dad was there. Smile , be yourself . Commend him in front of others. Maybe your Christlike personality will noticed by some there and they may wake up a bit. That whole "won without a word" thing , ya know? Your son , especially if he's watching , will see others with the problem and not you and wonder why someone as good as you is being rejected. Set ego aside and be love, perfect love casts fear away. Pray and know that God's goodness and grace surrounds you like a shield. (Some scripture) as your son grows he will see the difference and find his way as long as you remain a positive loving constant parental figure in his life. You have to model the dad you believe in.
