I love beards! My sexy hubby sports a great one. Don't you think it's funny that the first thing Jw bros do on vacation is grow a beard? Never shave. For as long as they can. And the comments about they make a guy look intelligent, (some cases anyway) remind me of the college professors , maybe that's the problem, it's too close to college. Why can men not wear metrosexual clothes and yet have to shave off a neat beard to look less masculine? Wasn't Jesus a religious rebel? Why are we not supposed to imitate the world and it's standards and yet looking to western corporations and military to set the standard of acceptable dress and grooming? Maybe wt stepped in a big pile of doo doo with this control thingy and they don't know how to clean themselves up and still not smell. 🤔🤦🏼♀️

Talk to my Dad about beards.
by LovingLifeNow inso i spoke to my elder dad the other day, and he asked if i still am sporting a beard.
i said yes, then i said, "i thought the society said its ok to have a neat trimmed beard now?
" he said "no, no, no..if you read the article , it says in countries where it is accepted" so my response was "ummm, its pretty accepted here in america"..which he says "it reflects your spirituality" "if another wittness saw you, they would know you are weak"...i was like, "ok, i don't get it, and i follow christ/god, not men..." then he said in his hall" if a brother came in with a beard , he would not have privelages" then i just gave up, and tried to change the subject..ugggggggggg if these people would just listen to themselves , they would see the sillyness of there teachings...

Propaganda! Talk about fear and manipulation . Caddelin, I thought the same `thing with the mirror trick ! So anyone with nice things should be killed by a loving God. But closet offices are rewarded for life. Slave for the publishing company. The wife's expression the whole time was unhappy and full of guilt trying to please everyone, her family, neighbors, congregation, husband, uncle, God. She needs counseling, not more meeting attendance. Or maybe anti-depressants - like jws seem to be taking at an alarming rate these days. Must be exhausting trying to be perfect. Oh ya and the Joe's family equating church with material status as if you are nobody to the church without funds....hmmmm can anyone say gramma empty fridge or no more ice cream for you little girl? I've attended churches that are as or more welcoming. I agree with the intelligent comments regarding the actual meaning of the wife of Lot phrase having nothing to do with the meaning ascribed here. The only connection ever made in my mind reading that actually originated with WT.

Reaction of Governing Body Belies More than their Accusation
by carefullyread ina disfellowshiped brother wrote a letter of disquisition to the governing body of wbts a little while ago.
it was not in any way nasty, derogatory, rude, blasphemous, or with profanity but it was civil, truthful, & very informative that some have described as extremely truthful to enlightening, an ebullient disclosure.
i got to see some paraphrases extracted from it that have been circulating quietly or rather secretly passed around & i agree with the latter description.. the governing body was greatly perturbed, alarmed, to confused with this letter particularly as they became aware several of the congregation were also sent copies which some of the local congregational elders raised controversial questions about but mainly was dismissed by them without reading, to scoffing & ridicule but some also saw something more truthful to concern them.

I thought similar Scratchme... my sister can't think for herself because she feels so many are so much smarter then her and chose this so it must be true, especially our mother. Funny last night, my mother told me that I am just a deep thinker and my sister is not and that's why she'll never be able to socialize with me because she is afraid I will make sense and confuse her and she doesn't want the confrontation.apparently, my mom thinks she is way strong and can take my doubts on without affect. So, reading your texts PE, I think your sister is "honoring" your dad and to open to you it would betray him. He was "loyal to Jah (borg) and so she must be". It's a belief based on bias and the survival brain kicks in against thought and reason, and no reasonable critical thinking and proven facts can penetrate at this time. IT TOTALLY SUCKS!
