ben - it's packed and ready to go ;)
valis - my little brother ADORES polly pocket!! it drives my homophobic JW stepdad absolutely crazy. do your girls like star castles as well? that's another favorite of my brother's.
i'm so easy to please, i subscribe to the "it's the thought that counts" school of thought, so i don't usually write up a wish list or even formulate one in my head. i loves clothes though so everyone i expect a gift from knows my size and my brands of preference :P
grand sweeping theories are fatally flawed.
the world isn't that black and white and just "one thing" or "one way" doesn't seem to work.
totally laissez-faire economics is flawed as is complete government control.
jesus, that must've been cathartic
what is the worst song you've ever heard?
you know, the song that grated on your nerves and made you want to scream if you ever heard it again?
if it's a kingdom song please tell and please tell us what popular song you detested.
Obligatory Office Space Quote:...I'll be honest with you! I love his music! I do! I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings 'When a Man Loves a Woman'.
ROFL!!!! oh my god i love that movie so much.
i think it's getting a bit much.. please remember that while we dont mind some discussion of current affairs, we are not intending to be a political discussion forum.. i'm getting especially tired seeing some people making insulting and dismissive remarks and just posting dogma and propaganda.
worse still, it seems some people are *only* interested in posting on political threads and nothing else.
let me make it clear - that is not why we're here and if that is the only reason that you are here you will find the number of posts you have will be limited.. this of course goes for both sides.
just enjoy having political opinions so much - having been forced to sit to the side for so long - that I get excited.
this is the crux of the whole issue to me. having been a witness my entire life, i was never allowed to have political views, and i know that's probably the case with a lot of people here. in a way political discussion is very much an ex-JW issue. some of us are able to form and defend our political beliefs for the first time on this board, and i think that's kind of essential. granted, the political threads do tend to get a little snipey, but i think snipiness in general is what should be avoided. just my $.02.
i tend to be a pretty wild soul.
i have eaten the grossest foods.
i don?t get sea sick.
I mean, we can be civil about this can't we? lol kind of like a nuclear mutual annihilation pact
yeah, civil, that's the ticket.....hehehe....i mean.....
there were several posters from a couple years ago that i really miss talking to here are a few that i can remember off hand:.
trauma hound.
windchaser.
i was gonna say pleasuredome, too, but there he is :-P
i was a jw about 15 years ago and have been reading these forums for a while.
it took a long time to get over the fear of armageddon for sure.
my 18 year old is still a jw (we live at opposit ends of the world) and i have found your information really useful as i am preparing some kind of telephone 'presentation', as it were, regarding jw beliefs and the difference between jw and the other christian churches and what the message of jesus was.
welcome, AJN, it's good to have you here!! :)
well, its official, ive been fired after working only 2 days.
i got a job at wendys.
today, after school when i went in to work, the manager says she need to talk to me.
man some people are so shady. that sucks missy. i remember when i got my first job, i was barely seventeen, and according to the law here if you're under eighteen you need a signed authorization from your parents, and theyre not allowed to make you work more than four hours or past ..... nine oclock, i think, i might be wrong on that, on the weekdays or more than seven hours on the weekends. but i worked for gap, and that company is not exactly a shining example of ethical fortitude anyway, and not only did they never get a work permit from me but they used to schedule me to work seven hour days, past eleven oclock on weekdays and eleven hour days on the weekends. sucks that you don't have a job, but you'll be sixteen in a couple of months and that should make things easier for you. just dont work at gap. they'll take advantage of you and the pay sucks. ;)
in relation to the "six year old" post by countryguy, i wanted to write about children and the troof.. the jws have absolutely nothing to offer a child.
all they have is books.
young children don't like reading books in their spare time, or can barely read at all.

i did. i've always been a bookworm geek. in fact the main thing i liked about the JW's was the abundance of literature (this was before i could see that it was all a load of bull, of course). seriously.
