Fredrick, Thanks for the bio. That's great the way it happened for you. I wish I'd get an Email like that from my dad. Since your dad was an elder what did he find out that made him start searching? I'm trying to find something to help my brother see but I'm afraid. Anyway I am happy for you and it's nice to meet you. PC

Okay... How many of you ski or snowboard?
by shamus ini grew up on alpine ski's, took up snowboarding for a while, until it got incredibly boring, and now i've been into tele-skiing for about five years now.
i just love it!
before my accident, i could jump-telemark nearly any slope.

Screenplay ?

Thunder, I will speak to a friend of mine in NY. She is a screenwriter. She also teaches at various writing programs around the US at colleges. Also you should look into some local colleges. There are alot of courses offered at the adult education level that could help. I have been taking some writing courses, and the professors are usually out of the corporate world and have alot of contacts. I'm away for a couple of days, when I reach my friend I'll post you. PC

Feelings of an active JW
by XBEHERE ini have been lurking on this board ever since the may 2002 broadcast of that dateline on the subject of child molestation.
that show made me realize that the wt may not be speaking for god.
well naturally i discovered the truth about the "truth" over the past 21 months.

Greetings Xbehere and welcome. I am sure you feel very alone. I can't imagine having to actually go to meetings and act as if you believe. For your own sanity I suggest you read some of the books many here have listed. Ray Franz books are great! I think once you read them you start to unravel and all the guilt disappears. We were all so programed it's hard to realize what is true and what is false about the bible. Even if you take the bible only as interesting reading, you begin to see all the lies the JW's wrapped around it. Once you have no guilt about the so called "truth" you can start to make good decisions for yourself. Believe me I am in no way making light of your situation. I too have one of my brothers who remains an elder. I get so depressed about how to reach him. My dad to is the ultimate JW for 50 years. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and glad you jumped in...PC

An odd experience I had the other day...............
by nicolaou inmy job took me to a residential part of town that i would never normally have any reason to go to.
i had to go to a specific address.
i found it quite easily and parked the car about twenty yards from the customers home.. i had a sense of deja vu - but an unpleasant and rather disturbing one.. i took a good look around me.

Nic that was pretty powerful. I have tried to remember for myself the last venture into the field, but alas , I can't. I was really getting depressed when I was reading it. I thought it was the last time with your wife. I went to your bio and I read you left with your wife, so now I'm really happy for you and your family!! PC

I really, really, just want to smack this guy right in the face and yell "SNAP OUT OF IT". So to deal with all the depression surrounding the JW's, they need more time in service!! Why doesn't he contact the pharmecutical companies. The ad will read " give up your Prozac and Zoloft...field service is the answer"!!!! It is so ridiculous, it is completely comical. PC

I started to go to a church in my town just after 9/11. We lost one of our best friends in the towers, so we just felt we needed to go somewhere. The church I go to was started by a couple of families that left another church because of problems. The main pastor is an incredible speaker. He goes only by the bible but brings in examples from everyday life. He is the least judgemental person I have ever come across in a church setting. He is the first one to admit "I don't know" when you ask him something that's hard to prove. A very humble guy. They have all different forums of music from rock to gospel to old standard hymms. The youth programs are all about letting the kids be themselves and just learn about God. They have great charitable activities and he always makes you feel great when you leave. I had been to other churches and felt nothing. The best part is they serve Starbucks coffee and bagels before service every Sunday. How's that for a church!!!
