Hey! What happened th the Thread???
i haven't started a thread in some time but this is something that has got me thinking.
i want to know if i'm off-base here or if others have noticed this too.is.. over the last several months (perhaps 6-9) i feel that the tone of the wts and kms have been very strong.
not strong in the sense of legalistic do's and don'ts but strong in the sense of do more!!!!
I believe the literature is pushing the dubs more and more into feeling worthless. I was thinking over my own parts on the meetings over the years and realized that lately all my parts contain a DO MORE modern application. It seems that regardless of what a particular talk or article is about it contains DO MORE admonition as the solution. If something is wrong in your life it's your fault because you haven't DONE MORE.
I know it's been said here many times before...but,
"The beatings will continue until morale (and performance) improves!"
Have A Nice Day!

The Witness religion used to be denial of enjoyment. Some Witnesses enjoyed the denial of enjoyment and Bethel noticed that and steps were taken to eliminate the opportunities to enjoy the denial of enjoyment. Now some Witnesses have noticed that they don't enjoy not enjoying the denial of enjoyment and since there is not really enjoyment allowed inside the organization since the enjoyment of denial of enjoyment was discouraged, they have decided to seek enjoyment elsewhere.
I enjoyed writing that.
I enjoyed reading it! ...too
hope i can get some positive feedback., and i really mean it, don?t want to offend anyone but .. .
reflecting on your own experiences are people on this website mainly open to new points of views, new ideas, or is this mainly a site for criticizing even when there?s no concrete evidence just for the sake of it.
reason why i?m asking this is because i?ve been a member here for just under a week here and already had unpleasant experience of being dragged into pretty nasty argument just because i dared to disagree with someone.

Hi cyborgVision
Listen, you can't let these things rattle you. There are too many good people here to let the few who want to argue or who are just in a 'mood' ruin your time here. If someone goes 'off,' forget it. Most of the time I will ignore the comment, sometimes I will fence with someone but I found it usualy isn't worth it...let them think what they want.
Paul was a very opinionated man from the 'Old School.' His writings along with Proverbs 31: 6 and 7 prove to me that the Bible contains more than Divine direction from God and His Son.
I believe the Bible contains 3 things 1. the literal words and actions of God and His Son (which are reliable) 2. the history of mankind and God's people. 3. the uninspired views and opinions of others ie: the apostle Paul, the mother of King Lem'uel and Moses (his concession on divorcing). These personal views and opinions are NOT Divine standards that we are under obligation to live by.
an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.
i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy
I?m reading the section on DF rules but I don?t see it. Please help me out here.
The information you want is in the very begining of the Thread.
from the new organized to do jehovah?s will (od) pages 18, 19. this is from a new chapter (3) in the book ?trusting the faithful and discreet slave?.
why trust "the faithful and discreet slave".
there are many reasons to have complete trust in the slave class.
WHY TRUST "THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE"Can you imagine Jesus constantly reminding everyone He talked to that He was the Messiah??
"...by the way, I am the Messiah, better listen, better submit! ...Did I mention that I am the Messiah?"
No, that was not His way at all. Jesus was modest and humble and let people come to that conclusion on their own!
i have recently been blessed with my wife (currently df'd jw) starting to look into some things, and she's read the book "questions for jehovah's witnesses" by the cetners.
she still feels she needs to see something she feels is more reliable for dates such as the 1925 patriarchs, etc, and when i was doing research, i noticed the best quotes to show seem to be from books such as the millions now living will never die and the way to paradise, but they're really old, and i couldn't find any available on e-bay or as reprints on cds on my search.
does anybody know a way to get ahold of these books?
I couldn't find any available on e-bay
Keep your eye on it, they will turn up.
i went to a meeting today.
i found it very long.
i talked to a brother that went to a meeting in the morning in his congregation, and decided to go to our meeting this afternoon also..... i talked to an elder who had a depression.

My hubby always need a little taste of medicine on his ride home (if you know what I mean) and I didn't blame him for needing it. You find out all the gossip at the meetings if you are in with the right group, I want you to know witness are worse than the world with some of there behavior
I'm sorry about your husband, perhaps he should resign for his (and your) own happiness. Yes, many of the Witnesses are nothing more than hypocrites. Matthew 7:1-5
i've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.
What's really scary/funny is, from our own past experiance we know they are capable of this. This Thread that began as a joke may turn out to be prophetic.
