"You're an apostate!"
by Swan inwhat would you do in a situation like this?.
you're in a hurry, so want to just grab something quick for lunch in a nearby fast food restaurant and then eat back at your desk while you work.
there was a woman standing in front of the condiments area.

You got real embarrassed with everyone staring and left the place. What would you have done differently?
Nothing...Their attention was on that 'dangerously unbalanced woman.'

Old Friends from the hall invited us over to their house.....
by NoBorg inok, so we get a call from some friends who looked up to us as "who to be like".
we have been on the fade for, well, a long time now, which is quite a contrast because we were the never miss type.
the last conversation i had with the husband he kind of opened up about how he was having trouble going anymore.

"I see more people turning to religion than before. I may have missed something but i don't see the usa as anti-religious"
It's not that there are less religious people today wednesday, what's new is the anti-religion movement that's steadily growing in strength. 40 years ago it didn't exist. Now it's in the news almost daily.

I'm very sorry for what you suffered! I agree with you, that they're NOT going to get this Genie back into the bottle!!
"...I can now see that, in my opinion, Watchtower cares only for itself and they have no feelings for the victims or their responsibility toward the victims."
I have no doubt of this, they're in CYA mode, pure and selfish.

I'm very sorry to hear your sad news. My Father suffered with that also. He elected to have surgery then five years later beam radiation and did well there after. He passed on from other causes (not prostrate related) ten years later. So all is not necessarily lost. Be strong, this can be beaten!

Letter from a District Overseer
by Farkel ini recently came across this letter from one district overseer to an elder: .
"you did well in silencing the unspeakable teaching of the apostates.
from these are the "wandering stars" referred to in the prophecy, who wander from the narrow road of the commandments into a bondless abyss of the carnal and bodily sins.

"Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, Luther ... visionaries or apostates? Troublemaking rebels or leaders of a new way? Apostacy all depends on whose ox is getting gored. History is inevitably written by the winners." Big Tex is 100% right!

e-watchman, thoughts from past topic
by confusedjw ini was looking back and a month ago there was a topic about e-watchman and who he was and why he would expose the wt with one side of his mouth and encourage loyalty with the other side.
i wonder if these might be the reasons.... 1. he himself claims to be of the anointed and truly believes he is helping to expose the "evil slave" amongst jehovah's people.. 2. by encouraging loyalty to the wt he doesn't scare away the numberous active witnesses who read his columns and send in questions.
they read and stay in the congregations.

LOL... I guess I'm the contrarian here.
I still see Armageddon as a reality. Granted, the WTBTS has an exhausting history of dates connected with it. Now their floating 2034?! But that's human thinking and has been their biggest problem on ALL levels. I think the GB is wrong with their revised view on 1914 and the last generation, in my opinion, they 'blinked.' Jesus illustrations emphasized that a lot of time would pass before he would return. As I see it, the steadily increasing building of the anti-religious attitude among the people in the USA and other countries is an event not to be dismissed quickly. The constant talk about the UN playing a larger role in the War on Terror is something of note too. IMO
