    who is the real murderer?.

cain who slew abel, or god who rejected cain, and according to most believers knew how cain would react and what he would do...and did nothing to stop him.. "am i my brother's keeper?

" could be translated as --- why weren't you watching over abel?

    who is the real murderer?

Since this happened after the Rebellion God is not oblidged to intervien. If the Rebellion hadn't occured and Cain raised his hand to murder Able yes, God would have protected Able. The issue of God's Law vs Lawlessness was now in play so He was not and is not oblidged to act. After Armageddon lawlessness will not be tolorated.

So 'who is the real murderer?' Cain is, he ignored God's personal warning to him and used his free will for evil.

    The Right To Judge Others

    by FairMind in

yesterday our visiting elder-public speaker, cautioned against judging others.

he made allowance though for elders to judge or analyze the non-elders in the congregation.

i have always felt that distinctions based on position in the congregation are wrong.

It's a matter of degree. Judging is normal, we all do it, it is not sinfull. We judge each other ALL the time. Now 'condeming' is a differant story. That authority belongs only to God and His Son. IMO, the command not to judge has been misapplied, in that, it has been expanded to mean 'don't judge on any level' rather than mean, 'don't judge someone to the point of condeming him or her as worthy of destruction.'

    what a downright moronic article!

it is amazing that a self-described religious magazine would use such a totally.

irrelevant piece of news to further its misogynistic agenda:.

Many men who have had to stand under similar circumstances have often fainted, and I have had to go forward and aid them.

When I was in the service we were warned in Basic Training NOT to lock our knees while standing in formation as it contributed to fainting, restricted blood flow I think. Anyway not to long after this a man in my platoon fainted in formation and fell over like a tree! He also was in no way a wimp of a man...No, it wasn't me!

    Hello and welcome UM!

Question style in Keep on Watch Brochure

have you noticed how publications of late in question and answer mode have very personalized and viewpoint questions.

    they have gone very pointed.

this seems a definite trend and i wonder if it is one particular writer with a certain style or it has approval from the whole gb to get more pointed in their questions.

I haven't seen the new brochure although ezekiel3 posted a section of it so I got an idea what your saying. I don't know what their new game is, maybe their convinced we're on the threshold of the GT and want to stress personal responcibility...I'm guessing of course.

Your new avatar is interesting, but I vote for the cutie you had up before!

well i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.

i had fully intentioned to disassociate myself from the platform today, but i decided that if i wanted a chance to save my marriage that i'd better tell my wife.

she immediately went to to one of the elders.

    1. He gives us intelligence but makes it a sin to use it.

    2. He was right in calling me a hypocrite for going so long in something I don't believe in.

    1. It's domineering humans that do that, not God.
    2. No, he wasn't right. The Witnesses (especialy the 'trained' Elders) deliberately use absolutes to condem and control as part of their guilt and fear mongering policy. It's very dishonest. The real hypocites are leaders of the WTS and those who blindly follow them, pretending to be true Christians.

      • Do the person's expressions show that he believes that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God? (2 Tim. 3:16)
      • Is he heeding the Bible?s command to associate with Jehovah's people at congregation meetings if he physically and circumstantially can? (Ps. 122:1; Heb. 10: 24, 25)
      • Does he know the differance between a command and a exhortation?
      • Does he heed the Bible's prohibition of drunkenness? (Eph. 5:18; 1 Pet. 4:3, 4, Prov. 31: 6 and 7)

If the elders are not sure how the student feels about some of these matters, they should invite him to look up the scriptures here cited and comment on them in order to see the significance of what they say.
      Food for thought.
