Intelligent design assumes evolution
Hmm. So the two are entirely different ... ? I am so confused.
drawing once again from the infinite wisdom of this board.... i'm having a hard time figuring out the distinction between creationism and intelligent design... is id just creationism with a pronounced christian tie?
thanks in advance.

Holy crap, Elsewhere, that was the fastest reply ever!!
Thank you. I am doing a paper on why Creationism should be banned from public schools, and used ID and Creationism interchangeably, and my prof had a cow. I didn't think they were that different, but I must have offended his sacred perceptions of the world.

who put us here?
is there a god somewhere?.
if you were raised on an island completely isolated from outside influence of man.......would you ask these questions above?
I think there would still be questions - but not necessarily as developed. Who knows?
However, I like the way the Greeks perceived the world. Although they are often disregarded as being polytheists (and they were), it was a different perception of God, and it was logical. They recognized the "god" of the sea -- meaning that you have to respect the power and danger of the sea. The origin, I think, was a healthy fear and respect of nature. If you can't scientifically explain things, then it makes sense to just recognize them as strong forces that must be feared and respected. That is the foundation. From there, you get, "how can we make the forces stop?" ... Perhaps by pleasing them? Offering gifts? The "forces" grow to be perceived as sentient. And it all develops from there.
Those are just my thoughts ...

i can't feel the holy spirit operating in you people.
the first time i exposed myself to apostates, i was imagining matured people, more matured than the jw's.
not true -my avatar shows Janet Jackson's Tit being groped by a democratic hopeful -- er what is his name now???
That is the funniest avatar ever!! Sorry, had to say it. SLM

466-473 maintaining a balanced viewpoint toward disfellowshiped ones *** .
13:1, 7.. 18 family members can carry out these scriptural obligations and yet not show themselves out of harmony with a congregational action disfellowshiping one of the family circle.
As to disfellowshiped family members (not minor sons or daughters) living outside the home, each family must decide to what extent they will have association with such ones. This is not something that the congregational elders can decide for them .
I am going to print this out and save it...
Thanks, Englishman.
