When, if ever, did you start caring about POLITICS?
by Open mind ini've said a few times on here that i'm 99% mentally free of jwism, or something similar.
but i think i may need to back that number down just a bit.. i now believe that this world is all we've got and that,collectively, it matters what we as a species do on this orb if we want to continue to spread our dna indefinitely.
(some would argue that human extinction would be a good thing, but i'm not in that camp.

that would breach the legal barriers, i think -- if you cover a song but alter it too much, you might be accused of copyright infringement.

It may also depend on the question. If what you are asking hints that you have been studying outside material, cruising the internet, or watching Dateline on pedophiles then asking the question is a sign you have been engaging in apostate-like thinking and so that is how they react. Though I have to say I do agree with Terry's answer as well but it depends on the question sometimes.

A myriad is 10^4 or 10,000.
So four hundred thousand myriads is 400,000 x 10,000 = 4,000,000,000 (4 billion)
And four thousand myriads is 4,000 x 10,000 = 4,000,000 (4 million)
On a side note a myriad myriad is the largest number that was named in ancient greek times and that was equal to 100,000,000 or one hundred million. Hope this clears things up.

how did you feel when memorial took place and you didn't/couldn't really partake in it?

I didn't think anything of it because that was how I was taught it should be.
And what happended to the wine and bread afterwards if no one ate or drank? The KH I was visiting had no members that were of the Heavenly Class, so I had to wonder about that.
The wine was poured back into the bottle for next year and the bread was thrown out.
And how do you know who gets to take it and who doesn't? What if a guest took it?
A guest would be frowned upon but thought of as mistaken rather than malicious. It was a small congregation so the elders had a good understanding of who was truly annointed and who wasn't. I remember one sister being told to wait a year to be sure by her husband. He wanted her to wait another year after that but she said the holy spirit was crying out.

To Quit or Control it....Drinking that is....Who has succeeded and how?
by oompa inthinking about just giving it up....i always revert back to a nightly habit.....and the occasasinal big escape into the bottle.
but of course you can't live there, and it fixes nothing.. because i think i do have a problem, i went to some aa meetings and found them to be too much like wt.
if alcholism is a true disease, then why is it the only one that needs god (or a higher power to cure (or cope with).

AA is definitely not for everyone and as an atheist I find their style to be somewhat..distasteful. Despite the fact that they attempt to explain that your higher power can be your family and friends not just god it really does come down to the big G. Don't get me wrong I think trying to go it alone is a bad idea, but I just don't see AA as the be all end all of the matter either. I also don't necessarily think that you have to out and out quit drinking -- there can be a matter of control. But it is all in the planning -- drink on x days, x number of drinks..no more..and if you start slipping out of control that may be an indication that control is not going to work for you in your life, again everyone is different. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss more I had friend go through their 10 day program and then end up controlling his drinking with friends' help instead of quitting or going through AA. Good luck to you, work hard, and stay strong.
