I can't even believe how easy it is to succeed as a dub compared to actually making something worthwhile of yourself. All the drivel answers are there.

by Rohag inhere's the text of interviews from the friday afternoon "young people - walk by holy spirit in the congregation" presentation at a 2008 jehovah's witness district convention.
this transcription approximately covers the second half of the presentation.
i've omitted names and locations to preserve individuals' privacy.

Your thoughts on Wicca?
by Texman55 insomebody who's become a friend is an ex catholic....pretty knowledgeable on all the mainstream christian doctrines and history etc....now into wicca beliefs....not a actual member, but in tune with the ideas....mediation, incense, being close to the earth yada yada.
not real wound up with it, not pushing it on me.....and theres no way i would ever go there.....just not my style, and think i am over any organized religion at this point.. a good friend, good person.....he cant really explain why he's into all that except it feels good....but i'm a little uncomfortable.....sad to say i think it's a holdover from the jw fear and loathing of anything remotely "demonic"......i'm a good researcher, and in 15-20 minutes on the internet i know i could dig up all the lowdown on wicca beliefs/practices/history etc.....and i know without looking it up that its all just a made-up job like so many other groups we know.....but i hold back because i'm afraid if i knew more i'd feel really uncomfortable with my friend.....i know, i know that's so lame....lol.
just wondering if any of you have any experience with the wicca thing, and what you think about all that.

White Dove, I'm tempted to point to "The Craft" or some of those teenage witch sites here but I thought I would be more helpful LOL. I wish I had met more like you that spoke of metaphor rather than "love magick" among my age group in particular.

Not all Christians are the same and not all Wiccans are the same. I think to ask about Wicca as a religion is fine but that does not necessarily mean that you will have any more insight on your friends. I did not find Wicca to be for me although I attended several rituals with a local group and at one point was helping to co-ordinate a pagan pride event. I do not have anything negative to say about the Wiccans I have met though I found most to be very nice genuine people -- though often taken for being a bit eccentric by some. The best way to find out what your friend believes or practices is to ask and if you do not care to know more than simply say so! I have lots of friends I never discuss religion with, it doesn't have to be weird.

I always tried to finish as fast as I could so I could doodle for the rest of it but if the answers were too half assed when mom read them over I would get in trouble.

To the making of many books..
by Mysterious in...there is no end and much devotion to them is wearisome to the flesh.
why do none of the dubs clue in that this points to them more so than any other religion and is a major cause of all the burn out in their religion?

Yes but Carmel the way they teach it is that it does literally mean books and they insult the world putting out so much literature. My question is why they do not realize they are the pot calling the kettle black under their interpretation rather than any desire to actually apply the scripture to the JWs objectively since I do not even follow the bible...

how dear you make fun of religion.....who the hell do you think you are,I was cathic then my cahanged my religion every mht and jehovah witness are better then any other people in anyother religion and at least there not back stabing bitches like you and people who write this shit
Response number 1: Dear scottie, I am the free, the liberated, the proud. I have left my childhood fantasies behind and write articles with meat rather than milk. And were I to stab you it would be in the front not the back because I am not a coward who feels the need to attack others freedom of expression over the internet. Response number 2: Dear scottie, Please refer to a dictionary and use proper grammar then try your email again. Response number 3: No U. Response number 4: Your language stumbles me. I could go on forever but I think I can stop there. Maybe you should send him a free home bible study?
