I FEEL so bad!!!!

i just got my cat neutered..... i know its the responsible thing to do...but i still feel horrible about it!.

I remember when the organization said no to sterilizing humans. Then I believe they flip flopped on that one too but I don't know for sure. I thought they were leaving it to the conscience. Correct me if I am wrong. In the last year, however I was informed that they have taken a stance on "unnatural birth control"(pill, condom, etc.). I have a feeling that I am correct because I know one active Jw was reading all about the natural rythms of the body specifically rythm method for birth control. With that in mind I wonder if I am to become an aunt in the near future.....not a reliable form of birth control. I guess it doesn't really matter because I would only be a very distant observerer.

I hope you will forgive for jumping from critters to humans but my mind wonders quite easily. Sorry about that.

And SPICE you did the right thing. You aren't crippling your cat. Don't let anyone tell you different. ROSALYN

You did the right thing Spice. Now you won't get any paternity suits handed over to you by irate neighbours who didn't have enough sense to have their little girls sterilized.

My daughter and I have 3 indoor cats and so far 2 of them have gone under the knife. We have lots of Toms hanging around waiting to get at little our little Daisy. And the little stinker....she figured out how to open the screen on one of the windows two weekends ago. We were away and fortunately our neighbour took her in. I guess I'll know in awhile if I am going to be a grandmother or not. sigh Anyone want a kitten?

Canada and Child Abuse - Need a Program There

dateline was aired in the us, panorama in the uk - the missing link seems to be canada.

a segment on as it happens, which is broadcast in much of the us would be terrific.

any thoughts on how to accomplish this?.

CBC radio is also a great forum for getting information across as well. Almost 2 months ago I was able to hear most of Shelagh Rogers interview with the father whose daughter has leukemia. Very moving and Shelagh to me is one of the best. Great gal for the job.

Tips on "reverse indoctrination" - fr...

about ten months ago my wifes best friend (an active jw) stopped shunning her.

it started with occasional phone calls.

recently this friend chose not to attend the convention to avoid lying about talking with my wife.

You said it so well.

If you are church going person and are in a position to help a JW out of the organization don't try to fill their head with doctrine. There is so much going on in their hearts and minds after leaving or while trying to leave that it could just cause overload.

Show them by your actions, not your words that you care for them.

We were taught at the meetings that the world was out to hurt us. I feel fortunate that my parents did let me play with kids who weren't witnesses and we did associate with non witness relatives. Unfortunately they were still very involved and were considered strong witnesses but there were a few things that they didn't let the organization boss them around in. But for some the "the fear of world" was incredibly strong the so it is even harder for them to leave.

Just love them, care for them and be there for them and sometimes it has to be totally unconditonal ....at least until they get stronger.

OUTRAGED ! about little girl murdered

it broke my heart today to find out that this child was not to be found alive.

i grew up in and around orange county.

i lived for several years in fullerton.

I did not read the article. From all the comments made here I know I won't read it. Maybe it's hiding my head in the sand like an ostrich but I just don't need to know the details. All I know is that one more life has been snuffed out.

With all the DNA testing I wish the death penalty could be brought back to Canada. We have 2 of history's worst criminals enjoying priviledges while serving time in our federal prisons.

There must be a way to tell the story without splashing the horrid news across the headlines which give these deviants the publicity they crave.

Let's make sure we look after our own carefully and keep the family of this latest victim in our hearts and thoughts.

I was already out of the org when ACDC became big over here in North America so I am pleased to say I wasn't unduly influenced. They were middle 80's right? My little boys liked them. I did like the guitar player in his cute little private school shorts. ahem. I wasn't a big fan but don't you think they sounded like Nazareth sometimes? I liked Nazareth.....

Okay ...now I know who the Simon is that I mentioned on the live chat everyonce in a while. Thankyou for the welcome.

Doing the best I can to keep my nose clean. I keep the roll of toilet paper handy just in case....not refined enough to use kleenex tissues. Sometimes it gets abit nutty in live chat but I know I have the opportunity to leave if I don't care for the conversations. So far it's been good and I am really getting the hang of posting in the categories too. Some very sad and disturbing things being touched but at least there's a place to vent. Now I know why the goofiness is so good in live chat. It can really take the edge off of the tension. ROSALYN
