While I find that people who can't carry on a conversation without the use of foul language seem to be morons themselves, I will defend their right to be just that.

.......hearing people belly ache about how "we can no longer swear" or "say whatever we want"!!!.
if you cannot make a sensible comment without swearing...then you are a moron!!.
if you cannot get your point across without being rude and abusive to one another then you are a moron!!

Ah yes. Zev stole my thunder. The coffee break, what a great way to witness. We'd leave a copy of the WT&Awake lying conspicuously on the table and hope other patrons might ask for them.
I remember aux. pioneering once and spent three hours with som reg pioneers having a"pioneer breakfast" That was the easiest three hours I ever got.

hi, i just had to submit this.

Hi, I just had to submit this. My 27 mo. old granddaughter and I came back to our place yesterday from our usual Friday outing. My wife looks after our 6 mo. old grandson and I take "Fee" to a kids activity center and then lunch at Macdonald's.Yesterday we also went to a park on our way home, and by the time we got back to our place, she had fallen asleep. As I was carrying her into our apartment, I couldn't help but realize just how vulnerable and innocent this little person was and it made me sad that anybody could or would take advantage of someone so helpless, and it troubled me even more to think that someone who claimed to be a Christian would abuse such a little one. So I had to write to appeal to any who read this board or any other board, who still are actively associating with JW's to seriously examine their current situation and ask themselves how you can support such an organization and still feel that you are not bloodguilty.
This message is of course posted for ALL to read and ponder. I realize there are people in the world, victims themselves in many cases, but also freaks who have no regard for human dignity who will always prey on the innocent and helpless, and I don't expect that will ever change, but at least if those who claim to have a conscience, especially a "God given" one, would have the intestinal fortitude to stand up for their own children, then maybe our situation may begin to improve.

i'm in california and just tuned in to cnn @ 8:00 and there was 1/2 hour of connie chung about kidnapped kids, but nothing about bill bowen, the two girls, or the wts.

The same thing happened here on the West Coast. 1/2 hour about child abduction then the show was over. Kind of disappointing to be sure.

in october of 2000, i faded away from the watchtower.
like most people, i have family and friends who are jw's (including my wife and parents).
fading is generally the best method for people in that situation.
Thanks for the post Expatbrit.
The situation in which my wife and I found ourselves in likewise needed a subtle method of "uninvolvement",as we were(still are) well known in our community. My wife started first by gradually missing meetings due to ill health;read depression;followed by frequent visits to our daughter and son in law who lived some distance away and who had already stopped going to meetings. This worked well as many knew of her poor health.
I had planned for months as to reasons I had to resign my "priveleges" as an elder citing caring for my wife as a primary reason, along with the heavy workload invoved as WT conductor, BS conductor and my work on the building committee. I gradually relieved myself of those burdens and eventually was deleted as a servant, don't you just love that term"deleted". Not long after that I switched to an evening shift at work which effectively assisted in missing the BS,KMS&Service Meeting, and because the shift included weekends, I had to leave IMMEDIATELY after the WT study with no time to chit-chat.
While we were doing all this, we likewise were planning a move to another area of the city, completely out of our old circuit. When we finally moved, I alone went to the PT&WT for a couple of months so as not to arouse suspicions, but never socialized with anyone. The elders called a couple of times but then just stopped, and thus far we've not heard a thing. Our friends from our old hall have never called, which is fine with us. Occasionally I run into people I know, but we never seem to talk long which is also fine.
Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Thanks again

THE BLONDE JOKE TO END ALL BLONDE JOKES!> There was a blonde woman who
was having financial troubles so she decided to kidnap a child and demand a
ransom.
She went to a local park, grabbed a little boy, took him behind a tree and
wrote this note. "I have kidnapped your child. Leave $10,000 in a plain
brown bag behind the big oak tree in the park tomorrow at 7 A.M.
Signed, "The Blonde"
She pinned the note inside the little boy's jacket and told him to go
straight home.
The next morning, she returned to the park to find the $10,000 in a brown
bag, behind the big oak tree, just as she had instructed. Inside the bag
was the following note... "Here is your money. I cannot believe that one
blonde would do this to another!"

seal of approval
when the mother returned from the grocery store, her small son pulled out the box of animal crackers he had begged for, then he spread the animal-shaped crackers all over the kitchen counter.
" his mom asked.

well actually it was about two weeks ago now, but i was just talking with another x-jw friend yesterday who commented how significant it was for her.
i'm not particularly political, i don't have strong opinions on politics, but it was pretty cool being free to do something that i had always been taught to believe was a terrible sin.. you see here in new zealand there was a general election held on july 27. all my life i have been in the borg and subsequently never voted, it wasn't allowed.
voting would have made me "part of satan's system of things" and all that.. so for the month or so leading up to the election i paid extra attention to the political situation in the country and made a decision and when the day came, i made my way to the polling place (the local high school hall) and voted.. just thought i'd share that with you all.
Since leaving the WBTS,I've voted in two elections, one provincial and one federal.Although I felt a little strange, after twenty five years of not being involved in the political system, I did know what to do as I'd voted before becoming a Witness. Since the last election, I've become much more involved in politics, to the point where I'm actively seeking to reform the electoral process here in Canada.

'cos we haven't seen rain in....well, we've forgotten.... and the eastern states are gripped by one of the worst droughts on record.
Good Morning,
It's early morning here on the west coast of Canada and I thought I'd start my day doing your poll.(Ihave got to get a life)
Our library consists of probably a couple of hundred books. A few remnants from The Remnant, some health and beauty books, lots of kids books(for our grandkids) and myriads of cookbooks as in an earlier poll I mentioned that I love food of all sorts, and cooking is a pastime for me(when I'm not goofing off with my grandkids.(Did I ever mention my grandkids before?)
Anyway, thanks for these polls Oz,keep 'em coming
what's it all about?
