i just got done watching the first 2 hours.
so far the storyline has been good.
i think that if your a scifi fan you will love this show.
There is a lot of shows that I remember "loving" in the 70's and 80's, but now when I watch them they are so corny. The original Battlestar Galactica is starting to get that way for me. I had some reservations on tonights show. They have been hyping it for so long I had to see it. I am glad I have so far.

Yes, they changed some of the characters that where male in the original to female. I feel that this falls more in the lines of today and the future of women having a more forward presence in the military.
Another show that I liked but was only on a couple of seasons back in the mid 90's was SPACE ABOVE AND BEYOND. I didn't get to watch it much on it's first run but SCIFI channel a few years ago used to show them and I believe that I seen the whole series.

i am trying to help someone and need some advice.
when i left the jw's, i was one of the fortunate ones in that i was never shunned.
my family has unconditional love for all their kids which seems to be a hard concept for a lot of active jw's to grasp.

i have not been to a meeting in about 6 years, and no one had bothered me.

my mom had called her to tell her that the elders wanted to know where i lived because they wanted to encourage me to come back.
Don't meet with them if you don't want. Use caller ID and don't answer the phone if it's them. If the call is blocked don't answer it (probably telemarketers anyway). If they come to the house don't asnwer the door without checking to see who it is first. If it's them don't answer it.
There is no reason you HAVE to talk to them.
And I know my jw sister will do anything to help me get that way
I take it this is a different sister than the one that has been out for 17 years?
At the very least if they DF you without talking to them it will take them alot longer to get around to it than if you let them talk to you and they DF you right away.

what weird things do only jehovah's witnesses do?
I remember every congregation that I went to, there was always the scifi fans. Couldn't wait to be "perfect" and live forever so they could build starships and travel throughout the universe exploring. The reasoning behind this was the jehovah made this big ol' universe for our enjoyment. And since we will live forever we can have endless time to explore it.
