ladies and gentlemen..................... pass on this big peice of crap.
i went to see it today....... omg........ has will smith in it............ and it sucked.
made you so damn depressed........ .
I saw it the other day and it left me and my beloved feeling out of pocket at the end. I'm not familiar with the book, but I was entertained and thought, "That was an experience!"
I kept seeing that "Starry Night" painting by Van Gogh hanging above his fireplace and couldn't help but wonder if he might have actually snagged the original out of the art museum to hang in his house. I mean, why not? There's nobody else in the world, so to speak.
I too, have avoided Will Smith since all the Men in Black, Wild West, etc. "Fresh Prince" persona acting, however, since seeing "The Pursuit of Happyness" with his son Jayden and then this film, I am really enjoying his talent and will see more more of his movies (ha, no pun intended!)

hey, all jwders!
hope you have a wonderful solstice today.
tonight i will toast you all as we burn a candle against the darkness and enjoy the incredible adventure of being alive on this remarkable planet.
I celebrated the Solstice a day early with a group of friends last night. I'm really not up to the nuts and bolts of the Yule/Solstice stuff yet... but I am having a good time dipping my toe in: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/18/149238/1.ashx Happy Solstice to you too! alias
my daughter and i went to our very first yule ritual/celebration.
it was a beautiful ceremony with masks and costumes of the sun lord, white lady, and the raven of annwyn (sic?).
we witches (i'm in training) sure eat a lot of food (for grounding).
White Dove,
We read several reflections, meditated, shared experiences, and discussed the "darkness" of the season. We did this in front of a roaring crackling fireplace fire with light, joyful Christmas music playing in the background. One participant read a reflection about the Yule too.
While there I was thinking about how wonderfully metaphoric, symbolic, and reflective the experience was and rich with sharing and learning. It was so raw and authentic. It was very comfortable and life-expanding. At one point I sipped on hot apple cider and enjoyed the moment, knowing that this celebration, this time of reflecting and seeing beyond the surface is so significant for me, right now.

I went to a Winter Solstice Celebration tonight. Not quite the Yule, but it was enjoyable.

tomorrow i am having my first borthday party .
i intend to get very very drunks and dance until my feet are painfully swollen!
.
Oh, I had my first one at 29 too! That was the year I got my *first* cubical decorations by co-workers and I officially let myself celebrate. Then I skipped a few years and had my second one this year, where a dear, dear friend of mine who knows my JW background gave me cards and gifts for all of the birthdays I missed growing up, all the way to 35.
It's your special day. Enjoy it, be safe enough to make it to the next one. ;)
Happy Birthday to YOU!

so what was your silver lining in all your experience as a jw?.
my first response is to say none for me.. .
i guess there is a silver lining after all.
The silver lining in my JW experience has been abundant.
Think of all the things being a JW denied us...
Now turn that inside out. Now I understand both sides.
What it means to not have. And what it means to have.
In everything, there is a lesson.

i have watched this movie a hundred times and everytime i cry such a powerful display of humanity...
Yes, yes! And I love the "cornbread" scene.

i will be going in a few minutes.
i don't believe the crap i hear from the pulpit, but i do like the people, and they put up with me quite well.
i guess they think i will come around someday, who knows, it could happen but i doubt it.
We humans need to be connected with one another. Obviously going along with some of this feeds your soul and you enjoy it.
:-)
