I always wanted to dye my hair or atleast highlight my hair when I was in school but my parents always said absolutely not. I guess one of the minor sacrifices you make for the priviledge of handling the microphones. Then of course, I couldn't do anything when I got out of highschool because I was pioneering. In my KH it was ok for sisters to dye their hair, but for brothers it was highly frowned upon. Well, now I that I'm 24 and out, I guess I could dye my hair but really what's the point.

Welcome there Kozmik
i am constantly learning about the good that JWs bring to this world, many scientist, doctors, etc etc. They build with the money they are provided with
I'm a little confused by this line, do you mean JW's as scientists or doctors because they cetainly didn't become professionals after becoming JW's. Since college education or any better way of life is pretty much out, about the only thing a dub could invent would be a new kind of cleaning agent for toilets or something.
I also feel sorry for all those "worldly" girls you are defiling but hey they are probably going to die anyways. I just hope you can find a good clean virgin dub girl who won't care if you been with lots of sluty worldly girls. On second hand, you better not tell them, forgive and forget right.
Well, good luck.

Yep, you can run into idiots anywhere these days. It just goes to show how close we all are really to the edge and how any minute we could just freak out and start killing everyone in sight. I'm glad to see you remained calm.
Don't you guys have auto pay at the pump over there?

One word-microwave. I did notice when I over there in Europe and also from your picture that everything seems to be smaller in the kitchen but I guess your appliances still get the job done.

A Rural Trend?
by Dan-O ini was talking with one of my brothers recently, and he commented on something he's noticed while travelling.
he noticed that a lot of kingdom halls seem to be popping up in rural areas.
i know that a town in the next county built one outside of town a couple of years ago, and the kh in my own town has a 'for sale' sign on the lawn.

Yes and no maybe. Perhaps, small town areas are more friendly to dubs because people there are already in a more spiritual state of mind. Of course econcomics do play a role and it would only make sense to build a KH on the edge of a large town or community where property is cheaper.
Although, I do remember hearing brothers who were on the regional building committee talk about the need for choosing more high profile property so as to be seen by the community. What was going on, especially here PA was that local brothers were getting cheap out of the way land and then building the KH there when the closest town or any real sizable population was miles away. Gee, I guess the fear was that they would be seen as some crazy introverted cult who wanted to keep away from the community.
Having said all that, I do know that my old KH which is in a very rural area, is having attendence problems because most of the younger ones, myself included have moved on to find a job. So, for awhile, the rural congregation may work if it has a lot of families with younger children. However, once these children get older, they may very likely move on for better prospects. They may not stop being a dub but they won't being going to their rural congregation anymore. Plus, as I noticed with my rural territory, people are more religious but more polarized in their beliefs, thus unwilling to hear any new ideas wether they be good or bad.

Welcome, have fun and good luck with college but be careful. You could become so hooked that you spend more time here than working on your studies. I know that has happened to me many days, and I end up cramming just to get my homework done.
If you can't change how your parents and friends feel about you, try not to worry and rather focus your energy on yourself. Feel good about yourself and live your life to the fullest, that is the best defense. Once your family sees that your happy and sucessful, they may just come around.
