Maybe the new blood cards will be a big foldable chart with the acceptable and nonacceptable components on them. I can only imagine, but dubs would carry around a whole encyclopedia if the society told them.

united nations and watchtower society
by Ozner indear friends,.
of course, the jw doctrine says "no" to a connection between un and the watchtower society.. but: my personal opinion as a long-time witness is that this was a ultimate chance for the society to change things for good: the wts as a ngo, helping many people in the world to improve their lives, just as they did on a small scale with aidafrique in africa and asia earlyer.. why did the wts disconnected from un so soon after the guardian-story?
now, there are only losers, no winners: the wts, with all the pr-problems on this subject now, but more important, the many people who could be helped with a wts/unhcr aid-program or an aidafrique/unhcr aid-program.. the reaction of disconnecting so soon as possible was not a professional act!.

Good point Hawk, it's all about the wording. When I called Bethel the other day, that is what the guy there tried to tell me, saying oh, we have always been an NGO. Not a lie, but not exactly the truth as well.

Would You Go Back To A Kingdom Hall For A Funeral or Wedding?
by minimus inlet's say one of your relatives either died or invited you to a wedding at a hall, would you go?
-
Atilla
No, not even to my parents funeral. I can just imagine how it would go down. I would be there and some old JW friend would come up and ask if I was coming back, and then I would have kick his ass right there in the Kingdom Hall for trying to use my parents death as a way to witness to me. If no one tried that, then I'm sure I would get upset by the fact that the speaker only spent a few minutes on my parents life and I would have kick his ass right there in the KH. I guess I should just stay away.

Talking about images, what about the background of that website, gives me a headache, no offense.

Crisis of Conscience online or ebook?
by lookingnow25 ini have no 'safe' way of reading a physical copy of this book really.
but after flipping through a copy at the university library here i finally want to examine it.
is there a copy online anywhere, or someway that i can view it on my computer?

It so sad that people have to sneak around reading books, just like in Fahrenheit 451.
Wouldn't it be great if the WT shut down and the last book they printed before complete termination was Crisis of Conscience. I'm sure old Ray wouldn't mind.

The UN Debacle
by betty boop innow i have been reading about the wts association with the un and trying to gain a better perspective to what happened.
im a little confused as to what their wrong doing was really?
i can understand its hypocritcal for them to associate with a political organization but they claim it was just for research purposes and if thats the case what other option did they have?

In my rural area there really wasn't much to do and the only place to play raquetball was the YMCA 30 minutes away. I was personally counselled along with others for simply visiting as a guest, not even becoming a member. The UN debacle is just another example of how ridiculous the WT is, nitpicking at everything members do but totally ignoring their own blunders. Everyday as a witness, especially if you are a JW kid, you live in constant fear that you may be breaking some WT rule or upsetting God, yet some of the highest officials can simply sign the WT up as a NGO just because they can continue to use the library at the UN or so they claim.

WT Paradox: ``In Your Face" Religion, Reclusive GB
by Room 215 init struck me that, for all the emphasis they put on evangelism and public preaching, the borg's leaders are actually a reclusive, shadowy lot.
the only large audiences they will address are their own members, they rarely grant interviews and never seek opportunities to lead by preaching their message in a public or media forum.
quite the contrary; in the one instance where jaracz made an appearanace (cornered by a bbc reporter), he came across as combative, and mean-spirited hardly as a spiritual leader of six million-plus.

Maybe they are like Darth Vader, unapproachable and strong looking but in reality frail and weak on the inside. Of course maybe you don't see them anymore because they are all dead!

This is a bit off topic but we had this couple in our KH that were married and were 1st cousins and no, I was in no way related to them. There kids were somewhat slow, I guess they were waiting on Jehovah to fix the problem.
