Oh, I think my doing this might get back to my parents. I think one of the guys I confronted is an elder and my parents only live like 45 minutes away, about 2 congregations over from the car loads congregation. I hope they do hear about it and that they appreciate that I'm not backing down not now, not ever.

I just confronted a car full of dubs in the preaching work!
by Atilla inyep, just got back from getting my morning coffee and they were across the street from my house talking to a lady that i believe is turning into a return visit.
i was frantically looking for the un letter, found it and then approached the car as they were just getting back in.
the old dub guy totally denied any un involvement and went into the speal about why the un and before that league of nations was so bad.

since college was (still is?
) discouraged, have any of you known persons of higher education to be in the organization, either by completing it while in or became jw afterwards?

My dad is a teacher if that counts, but became one of course before my mom turned him into a good little dub. My dad still is a teacher and about to retire but the sad thing, at least in my mind, is that he missed out on all the cool teaching stuff, like coaching, striking, and hell even the flag salute. My dad was going to go on and get his doctorate but he had already become a dub by then.

The old dub guy totally denied any UN involvement and went into the speal about why the UN and before that League of Nations was so bad. I said point blank, is this a lie on the UN website, is the UN lying? He said "yes", they can't be trusted. He did look through the UN pdf but refused to take it saying they had to get back to their important work, what a joke.
Oh, well, I totally blindsided them and I feel great, I could stay up for days with all the adrenaline I have now. Next time, I will go more slowly, but man was it fun seeing everyone's uncomfortable face in that car group. Also, I know the lady across the street, and you can bet I'm going to make my own return visit. Her grandchildren live with her, so I think I know just the point to bring up. But, wow, what a great, great day.

Getting back in touch with my old pioneer class.

i didn't have anything really unique, mostly knowledge and family books, etc.
however, i did find something that i forgot that i had, my shining as illuminators pioneer book.

Well, I was cleaning up and I decided to throw out anything WT related that I may still have. I didn't have anything really unique, mostly Knowledge and family books, etc. However, I did find something that I forgot that I had, my Shining As ILLuminators pioneer book. The unique thing about my book is that on the last day of pioneer school everyone passed around their book to sign the inside cover kinda like a school year book, (I know pathetic, but at the time I guess we thought it was cool). Anyways, I have all the addresses, phone numbers from the pioneers in my class and well, I'm going to use them.
I also have our pioneer class picture along with the name list, so it is easy for me to match addresses and names with a face. So, I'm going to have some fun. Call some of them up, see what they are up to, (I doubt if they are still pioneering), maybe offer some dissenting viewpoints. Basically I tell them my story and why I'm no longer a pioneer or a JW for that matter.

I going to picket my parents convention this weekend!
by Atilla inok, my parents have pissed me off so much with their denial and their refusal to even acknowledge my complaints against the borg.
they pretend everything is perfect at the kingdom hall and expect me to play nice to their dub friends so as to protect their own reputation.
this weekend in philadelphia, they are going to to their little convention and i have some evil thoughts.

Well, if it helps, I decided not to go. Maybe had the convention been closer but I decided I had better things to do, like spend time with my wife and my child. Driving 3 hours to Philadelphia wasn't worth it but someday, especially if I live closer, it will be on my to do list.

The young ex-Bethel elder guy in our hall had a laptop with an external floppy drive so he could keep publisher records but the records were not technically on his hard drive. Always thought it was weird, now I just realize that was just normal behavior.

Hotels or Kingdom Halls- which is Important

when folks go to bethel they are on vacation, when they go to the hall it is to worship god-.

Even if you could get a free room there at Bethel, why would you want to unless of course you just wanted to have some fun. Plus, from having stayed at Walkhill before, I can attest that their cable selection sucks and no vibrating beds. No fun.

I think my parents will be deluded until the end of their lives. Recently, because my parents are moving and cleaning things out, I found an anniversary card (the only thing they celebrate of course) from my dad to my mom. In the card was all the typical romance blah, blah, but at the end my dad said to my mom hang in there, the new system is almost here. Both of my parents have bad health, my mom with rumatoid arthritis, my dad with chonic ulcers and migrains and to see them putting all their hope in a fantasy is very sad. Oh well.
