I would be very skeptical of any claims regarding artifacts like this. After one of the crusades (mentioned in a documentary), they somehow brought back 2 heads of John the Baptist.

by ironsnake656 ini everyone, this is my new and first post.
i have like 4 years reading all the stuff in this forum and i like it!!!!
thank you for all your information that helped me to get out from the jwland.

Hola and welcome! Looking forward to hearing how things are there. For years now the story is always about the amazing growth in Mexico.
That judge is to be commended. I think when this issue comes up, a lot of parents are secretly relieved to have the decision made by someone else.

My Introduction
by Ray Frankz inthis is my first post and i'm feeling like i'm doing something bad big time!
i know on my mind it isn't, but the feelings are less manageable.. well, since i'm still a jw it's better not to give too much info, but i'm from brazil.. i've grown-up in the religion and practicly all my family, my closest friends and my girlfriend are loyal jws.
i used to be a regular pioneer but i still have a service privilege on my congregation.. i've had questions about the teachings of the wt since i was 10, but naturally i always pushed it away as it were "questioning the holy organization".. i started a friendship with some people in a course i took and we talked about a lot of subjects.

Welcome to the group, and I hope you're able to share some details about how things are in Brazil, without being too specific.
I'm sure you will find it very encouraging to be able to vent about this "best organization in the world", when even the slightest criticism isn't allowed.
I've read on here before a quote that said "I would rather have questions I can't answer, than answers I can't question ".

Will The Internet Immune The World From The Watchtower Virus/Meme?
by Brokeback Watchtower ina hot internet topics: creation or evolution, and many other related discussions, the amount of ridicule the watchtower receives over the internet far out surpasses any passing of possitive internet data to the world's unfettered view.
you need a good internet presents it is vital for the cult to survive, and the internet simply won't allow this cult to prosper, but rather is sending it into ridicule filled bankruptcy, as public gets immune from the wt(virus) fairy tale about them being the only ones to survive god's righteous indignation and repopulate the earth with more drones like members.
they are stopping all construction and are selling kingdom hall, and dissolving congregations nobody is getting baptized because the public is just too informed to believe their bull shit.

I think all the recent changes are showing a hint of desperation, and an inevitable long, slow decline.
The internet is likely the biggest reason.

Convention invitations
by dothemath inso everyone is supposed to get all excited about the invitation work starting tomorrow, according to the announcement from the platform.. maybe this makes sense if you're giving out invitations in the city where the convention is, but what if you're many hours away?.
a huge part of western canada is scheduled to attend edmonton alberta this july.
so how does that go over giving out invitations in winnipeg, about a 13 hour drive(that's just driving time).. i know some are actually planning on flying there, so i can't see getting excited about getting the public to make the trek.. i was curious how this is going over in other areas?.

Going "Hollywood" not helping!
by eyeuse2badub ingoing “hollywood” hasn’t seemed to help build any enthusiasm for the wtbts.
think about it, jw’s now have their own studio to make videos and cartoons.
the ‘kingdom’ dirges (songs) have received a makeover to a bit more modern tunes.

Recently saw some pictures online of some who toured the new headquarters. They were all excited to get their pictures taken beside a huge Caleb +Sophie display.
It reminded me of something you would see at Disneyland. Not long ago that would be outrageous in jdubland.

Jehovahs Witness organization were never approved by Jesus Christ in 1919
by smiddy inaccording to jehovahs witness beliefs/doctrines , dont they acknowledge that the international bible students association , ibsa , were the ones with charles taze russell as the president as being the organization that jesus christ appointed over all his belongings and nominated them as the one true religion to dispense food at the proper time ?.
when joseph f rutherford took over the organization contrary to charles taze russells instructions regarding a successor did that negate the appointment that jesus christ gave ?
i think so .how about you.. and then changing the name that jesus christ gave his blessing to the ibsa for jehovahs witnesses under j.f.rutherford to change that name which was pre-christian and has no basis in the new testament which is all about witnessing acknowledgeing and highlighting the name of jesus above every other name as is stated time and time again in the christian greek scriptures,.

Imagine if they had just kept the name "international bible students". It would be a lot more accepted by the general population (imho), and it would give a lot more latitude to get stuff wrong. As a student, you would always be learning.
I wouldnt doubt the current GB has fits over doctrinal things from years ago, that they now have to fit in and keep making up as they go along.
Knowing what they know now, even the strong blood issue stand wouldn't have been taken, but their hands are tied.

Evolution Deniers - An Endangered Species
by cofty inevolution explains how everything descended from a common ancestor over millions of years.
creationists only seem to want to talk about what came before that common ancestor.
just for the sake of discussion let's pretend that the following is true.

Actually I think anyone that believes the account of Noah and the flood has to also believe in evolution.
All land animals wiped out only 4500 years ago? All this diversity from the "kinds" that Noah saved?
Thats a scale and timeline that I don't think even evolutionists could fathom.
I've been watching a documentary on all the flightless birds found around the world recently. (There are many examples- most extinct since rats invaded all the islands)
So how did they get to these islands in the middle of the ocean.....and then somehow lose flying ability or even wings completely?
As you mentioned, it takes a lot of wilful ignorance. From your topics it's a subject you have studied in depth, thanks for your posts.
