i don't know if it is me or if it is becauce i was taught so much false teachings growing up, or maybe that the watch tower publications are about a 10th grade level and when i read a thoughtful article i want to believe it.

but boy, television media seems to present the public with truths the same way the watchtower presents its truth.

with 10 minute sound bites, never getting to deep and really not explaining very well the history of some of the subjects.just a thought!

Seeker4, you seem to be a thinker. With regard to the Internment camps that are reported to exist, do you believe that is all a hoax? If they really exist then can you tell us what their planned use is? I’m looking forward to your insight. Myself, I truly believe they are for those who don't cooperate with the coming NWO (666 maybe?).

I have a sense that something is being orchestrated at a global level and that all of the leaders of the major nations are part of it, Maybe this comes from frustration with seeing “Rome Burning while Nero plays the Fiddle” but for some reason no real effort is being made to stop the slide to what I see as a collapse of the present world order.

Some real crazy stuff is the fact that in the USA (and probably other countries are doing the same) many large and presently unoccupied internment camps have been built. These are under the oversight of FEMA. I know someone is going to call me on this but do a Google search on “American Concentration Camps” and read what you find. There will also be links to videos showing some of the actual camps. My logic is that these camps are there for a future purpose and probably related to housing dissidents if and when martial law is declared. These camps were not built without reason, right?

Attended a KH dedication (Georgia USA) in the early 1970s where Brother Swingle gave the dedication talk. When he stepped up on the platform, from all appearances I expected a dull "old man" talk. Boy was I surprised! His talk on the book of Jeremia (without notes I might add) was riviting and forceful. I liked the guy.

Yes and I believe it is in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Mentally I can picture the present world situation (terrorists, energy crisis, food shortages, terrorist nations with nuclear capability, etc.) rapidly escalating to a crisis of almost unimaginable proportions. So bad that if God does not cut these days short, no flesh will be spared. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong but if I'm right then now is the time to turn to God for salvation.

yes it's not offical but witnesses here are saying that gas prices and increased cost of living show that armagedon is sooooo close.....haven't they heard of world war 1 and 2 when people didn't have sugar, gas, coffee or anything?

armagedon didn't come....we bounced back.

Actually, being an economist, the reason of the inflated gas prices is simple.

Alguem, I agree with some of what you say but not all of it. As an economist, I’m sure you will agree that in the long term it is Supply and Demand that dictate the price of a commodity. Sure, speculation is part of what is causing the short term increase in the petroleum price. However in the long run demand will increase (for the reasons you mentioned) but the supply will be drastically reduced. This is because the world’s oil fields have peaked or will peak shortly. Once an oil filed peaks you can look for a 3% to 7% annual decline in oil production. It is the gap in supply and demand that is wreaking havoc on the world economy including food production.

Currently the world demand for petroleum and natural gas is 87 million barrels a day and the supply is around 85 million barrels a day. In about 10 years world production will be about half of what it is now and China alone (at current pace of growth) will be needing 85 million barrels a day, All of this is a formula for disaster resulting in global famine and the real possibility of a World War.

As far as being in the Great Tribulation, the official WTS teaching is that it begins with the destruction of religion and that has not yet happened. Also, the Great Tribulation is from Jehovah as part of bringing to ruin those ruining the earth (Rev. 11:18). So any JW that believes the Great Tribulation has already started is espousing apostate (lol) teachings.

i have often heard the 1967 talk of district overseer charles sunutko regarding 1975, but does anyone know what became of him?

I remember him from the 1970's in Atlanta. Last I heard and it has been three or four years ago is that he was living in a mobile home park in Florida. The comment was that he is still a staunch JW.

Look at the history of Christianity. A thousand years ago, if the Crusaders had AK-47s, or tanks, or explosives, or (God forbid) nuclear weapons, would they have behaved any differently than Muslim fundamentalists do now?

Big Tex, I suppose it is a matter of semantics. I don't consider the horrific acts of those who falsely claim to be Christians to have anything at all to do with the history of Christianity. The crusdres were followers of men not Christ. Let's put the blame where it belongs on men and not on God.

While there are certainly some fairly strong arguments for doing so, I think you are lying about this, FairMind. Care to document your claim? Btw, a proposal from one, or even a few congressmen or senators will not back up your claim.

Sixofnine, I don't appreciate being called a liar especially by the ignorant and uninformed. However I was mistaken as the proposed increase is $0.50 per gallon on top of the current $0.184 per gallon Federal Gas Tax that has been in place since 1993. So the total tax (Federal) would become $0.684 per gallon). Here is a bit of proof of what i've just said along with a link to the web site. As pointed out by another poste the vast majority of these pilots did not claim to be Christian. All of this is of course a red herring as many people who claim to be Christians and yes, even believe they are, have commited horrific acts. My argument is that these people are not true Christians since the Bible does not teach that Christians are to convert the world through violence.

Facts....The Koran does teach convert the infidel or or kill them. The Bible teaches to convert the infidel and save him from God''s wrath.
